Do you all remember when Deb and I ran to an antique mall awhile back to look at some antique milk glass light fixtures that were over 100 years old? I got them for a steal and shared in that post. The moment I saw them, I knew EXACTLY where I wanted to hand them in the Woods and Ivy Cottage. If you have been following along on social media, you have seen us put together our kitchen cabinets all weekend. I never like to say never because I am always eating my words, but I am going to go out on a limb and say NEVER AGAIN will I do this job. ???? We went with a less expensive cabinet since this is our temporary place to stay at the woods. I explained everything in a post because I know it’s confusing when I say this is temporary. ???? Anyway, we need to take breaks from monotonous jobs and do fun things… like hang lighting. I absolutely couldn’t wait to get our antique milk glass pendants hung. That happened last night.
Here they are in the bathroom. And, I am CRAZY about them. They kind of have an art deco vibe which I’m really loving, which surprises me. Because I’ve never been a huge art deco lover in the past. They are so perfect in this cottage and just make such a huge statement.
They are the perfect shade of white. I love the details and the added texture it brings to our spaces. We actually hung the two over the kitchen island area, too, but you will have to wait to see those. ???? I think it will look spectacular.
We have gotten a lot done in the cottage recently including all of the painting, chandeliers hung, and the faux brick fireplace. I will be sharing here soon about the fireplace mantel we used and what we did to it. And… we have so many more fun projects to do so keep watching over on social media and don’t forget to subscribe here to receive the posts through email.
I hope you are enjoying this process as much as we are! Thanks for stopping by.
OH… and I was google searching the history of my art deco hanging pendants, and found a lot of other gorgeous options. I figured I would share them in this post in case you are interested and looking for any yourself. Click the pic to shop!

I love those lights! Can’t wait to see the island under them!
heart eyes!!!
I love watching it all come together. Those lights are so good!! I can’t wait to see the final results. ????
They are so pretty. Did you Rub and Buff just the two in the kitchen and leave the other two the original black?
I LOVE the pendants and I’m not a huge fan of that era. I’m so excited about this whole space. And I find myself smiling at how much Deb has “changed” from not wanting to share her 5 things on Friday to the diva she is now….you guys are just so much fun. and when this is done you will have provided so much inspiration to people to “live outside the box” or at least teach us how to turn a box into a home with character and light.
Oh my gosh.. you are an OG… Those five on Friday posts were the very first posts I wrote. Thank you for sticking around..
You girls are something else. You can do anything!!
