Oh My Garsh… We bought our dream house that we have stalked for years! Now what? Where do we even begin? The first place you see when entering our home is the entryway, and what a perfect place to get this show on the road. Let’s get started on the entryway plans.
If you didn’t see the last post, you may want to check it out. You really need to read the story about how we ended up with this Big Red Brick Colonial HOARDER House and the sign that it was truly meant to be ours, to love and take care of until the end of time. Or as Deb says, “until we get a wild hair.”
Hoarding is a very sad situation. Usually the person suffers a major loss in their life and they just can no longer cope. They are almost paralyzed with grief, causing anxiety and depression. Believe it or not, I completely understand it.
These pictures were half way through the 21 days of trash removal. Not an easy task as we needed several shovels, hundreds of trash bags, and 3 – 40 yard dumpsters, along with several trips to the dump to remove the sadness from the house. OK…enough of that!
After the initial trash clean-up, we ended up with an entryway that looked like this. (Excuse the crappy cell phone photos, but using a million dollar camera wouldn’t have made much of a difference.)
My wifey showing off her bad assery! Ha Ha!
Once we had ourselves a clean slate, we could see what we had to work with. I guess “clean” isn’t an appropriate term, but you get my drift.
Here is a brief list of our upcoming entryway plans.
As you can see, this list is quite long. But if I’m being totally honest, I love this process. After all, this dream house has been a long time stalking, pulling us away from another dream we had of moving south and rescuing a miniature donkey.
Be sure to check us out on Facebook and Instagram for more pictures of our finished projects, such as this.
And…….BUH BYE NOW – Said in a loud, high-pitched old lady’s voice, because how else could you say BUH BYE NOW?

Oh my goodness. What a project. That house was disgusting. You ladies were brave to take that in. Wow. You turned that place around.
Thanks so much!
