Please do yourself a favor and read everything I have shared about the Squatter’s Camp before you read this post. You will definitely want to start at the beginning. I shared where the Squatter’s Camp got it’s name and then I shared the plans for it in this post. I also talk about budget and where they plan to get some of their materials. Read those…and then come back and read this one.
Anyway…there is progress this week. Yay! I am so excited to see how this turns out.
Deb gets up every morning and looks out the window to see if there is any progress happening. Jake and Andy were up and at it early one morning last week and worked all day. Their dad had a few days off in a row so he helped them dig the holes and get the 4x4s concreted in and straight. He also helped them get all of the walls built. I think it’s so cool that there are windows on each side.
I believe I said in one of the last posts that Jake wants to build some shutters for each window to be able to keep them shut if he wants. And we are going to grab a door at the storage unit that we don’t think we will want to use for anything. So it will have a cute little door.
Jake has already started adding the siding to the outside. I suspect that will be done SOON.
Deb and her sister (the boys’ mom) went to grab some tin for the roof that someone donated to this project. It was about a half hour away from here. He was SO EXCITED to pick it up. I haven’t seen it yet, but Deb said it is going to look perfect.
I am really enjoying this project. And, I had a few people point out that this is going to be perfect for the grandkids when they get older…and when the older kids lose interest in a few years… and I couldn’t agree more. This little play house is going to be around a long time and be well loved and well used!
I will update your more as the progress unfolds.
