I have no clue why I was so excited to share our outside with you for Fall. I am absolutely loving the Fall colors and the warmth it brings to our home. Lots of you have commented that you cannot believe I love the color. Well… I think if it were a huge commitment … like a wall color or a piece of furniture, I would be a little freaked out. I know pumpkins and bittersweet are only a temporary addition of color. ???? So, today, I bring you my Fall tour of the backyard.
I went all out with multi-colored pumpkins and I LOVE it! We have an Amish community about ten minutes south of our house so I can always rely on them to have the best pumpkins and mums. And you can’t beat their prices. I bought all colors and varieties of pumpkins, including the nubby, warty ones, which I’m obsessed with. The more texture the better for me.
I created our centerpiece on our outdoor farmhouse table by adding a huge gourd to an old wooden box and surrounding it with fresh picked bittersweet vines and white pumpkins. Of course, warty, nubby gourds for the win on each side. I added a few pieces of porch posts we had leftover from a project as candle holders … but used the small white pumpkins in place of candles.
On our back focal wall, which is our old garage door, I draped some more bittersweet over the top of my sign to give it some needed texture. And we FINALLY committed to our patio lights we’ve been saying we wanted all summer. We hung those yesterday …. and of course, they have a dimmer. Dimmers are a MUST in this house.
I sprinkled pumpkins all around in our yard, adding them to our urns. It was the first time I decorated our urns simple like this. Normally I plant mums in them, but I’m loving the look of the pumpkins this year. I added some mums and pumpkins all around the chicken coop for some color and texture. And, of course, flower bed boy, Will, is holding one. He holds one every year!
I absolutely love Fall and love to decorate for the season. I kind of went pumpkin crazy inside the house, too! ????????♀️ Did you enjoy our Fall tour of the backyard this year?

I DID enjoy your Fall tour of your backyard this year! How lucky you are to live near an Amish community. I rely on my local Trader Joe’s for my gourds and pumpkins. I love your gourd-filled wooden box. A few months ago, my doorbell rang and I had been ding-dong-ditched. I opened the door to find a box similar to yours – it held five clear bottles filled with flowers from my friend’s garden – her husband had made the box. It’s a kindness I will never forget (she said we had both admired one a few years ago at a party we were attending and she asked her husband to make us both boxes. I, of course, had forgotten!). Thanks to you, I’m going to fill mine with gourds and leave some on her doorstep soon! Hope you and Deb have a great Fall!
Awwwww…. thank you! And that got me all teary eyed. What a nice thing to do!
Looks just Beautiful and Sweet Ivy looked perfect with her spotlight picture ❤️
I loved your fall tour. You are lucky to get pretty pumpkins & mums like that. Living down by the gulf with the heat our pumpkins & mums don’t last long outdoors.

My favorite thing??? Sweet Ivy girl posing for the picture…she is so adorable….
hahahaha She is a sweetie pie.
I wanted to park in front of your house as I was driving by being a creeper. Your front porch had a lot I wanted to see. But I kept going because I thought I could see it during your tour. Back is lovely. Can we see the front too?
hahahah thank you. And yes, hopefully I will be sharing the front porch next week.
This is my first visit to your blog since I met you guys a few weeks ago on IG! I really love to hear you tease each other and laugh. You are a fantastic couple!
I really love your table and pretty centerpiece. The flagstone is such a classic touch. It looks like its been there forever. Classic.
I go crazy with pumpkins, too. They are so cheap in Michigan. I’m not sure if you have squirrels, but for a long time I stopped decorating outdoors with them. Then. I got a great tip that totally works: spray them with Pledge furniture polish. Whoa…game changer! And they look so pretty shined up!
Love you guys,
Jane
Awww.thank you so much. I never heard of that. But, we don’t have many problems with them and the pumpkins… the bird feeders are a different story.
Your backyard is beautiful. So tastefully done. I can’t wait to go look in my shed And find all the treasures to use and fill with gourds and pumpkins. Thanks fir your inspiration. You two rock!
