Well…here we are again… with another case of the “nasties”. Only this time, it’s the half bathroom with before pictures. And you already know how I feel about those nasty before pictures. ???? I feel really sad. Deb can’t look at them without having a horrible reaction inside. I guess we have to look at the bad ones to be able to appreciate the good ones. (And you know I can’t do an entire post filled with only ugly pictures, so this ???????? may, or may not, be an After picture. ????)
If you are new here, we bought ourselves a good old-fashioned, filled to the brim, hoarder house. ☹️ Our home was bad. It was SO BAD! The wifey and I have remodeled several homes…. 10….. 15….??? ???? I’ve lost count. Chalk this up to being THE WORST house we’ve ever tackled.
It had several, what we called “waterfalls”. Which meant, the water ran through the roof, through the second floor, through the first floor, to the basement. It was awful.
In the original layout of this area, you walked through the laundry room to get to a really small half bathroom. This area was one of those spaces that included a giant waterfall. And that waterfall ran through a giant pile of laundry and rolled up piece of carpet. ???? To be honest, we owned the house for several weeks before we could even walk into some of the rooms. This was one of those rooms.
Neither one of us wanted to deal with this space either. The “laundry” had a weird look to it from being wet for who knows how many years. And right beside that pile of laundry, there were 1.5 million soaking wet dryer sheets. ????????♀️
I swear, Deb is the bravest of all Braves. She pulled up her big girl whitey tighties, stepped over that rolled up carpet and huge pile of clothes, and made it to that half bath. The entire door frame was so rotten from the waterfall that it fell in over her head.
So….. obviously, the floor that was under all of that laundry, was rotted, too. So that meant, several floor joists needed replaced.
As you can imagine, we were wondering at this point what in the hell we did.
We had to hire help to replace 10-15 floor beams… all from that one waterfall. ????????♀️
We ended up changing up the floor plan a bit. We turned the original laundry room into a mud room, and moved the laundry room into the original office.
I absolutely cannot wait to show you the After pictures.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I pledge my love to you all!!! Let me know what you think in the comments. Or catch me on Facebook and Instagram where I share sneak peeks of this room every so often.
Buh bye now!
