It is gardening season in Ohio! We are so ready for fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions, and so much more, but first… we have to plan it! So, in preparation for this year’s garden, I am checking out all of the amazing gardens of Instagram.
We were in Alaska last week, so if you missed the inspiration post on Alaska accounts, check it out here. I can’t even begin to tell you about all of the things we have seen and have learned.. including things that are way outside the spectrum of what we see in flatland Ohio. As amazing as it has been, in the back of my mind, I keep thinking about the fact that our garden needs planted as soon as we get home.
Check out some of our current gardening ideas here: Large Urn and Plans for the Garden Area – Deb and Danelle. Let’s hope we can make all of this happen this year!!
We were so busy trying to build our chicken coop before leaving for our trip that we really didn’t have time to start our garden, so that is our next big project! Here is a little motivation for your own garden or just beautiful images for your viewing pleasure. I definitely took away some great ideas from these accounts.
This account is pretty simple and straight forward; it is a man showcasing his produce! I must say, he grows some amazing-looking fruits and vegetables. I am especially impressed with the mushrooms that he harvests.
This page is devoted to showcasing All-America Selections’ produce. All-America Selections an independent non-profit organization that tests new varieties for home gardeners. Not only is this page a great way to discover new plants for your garden, but it is also very educational. This is definitely an account I want to keep following.
Hudson showcases his beautiful, heated and unheated greenhouses and raised beds in Star Valley, Wyoming. Unlike where we are located, his garden is threatened by the cold all year long. Based on the photos, I would say he does a great job combating the cold because his produce looks great! A greenhouse is something that we would love to add to our property soon. We have a few in mind. Stay tuned for that.
This account is purely visual and that is completely okay with me, because the garden spaces shown are absolutely stunning! If you are looking to add some landscape design to your garden area, this would be a great one to check out for inspiration!
Kerri is a hobby gardener in Oklahoma. She built and designed this amazing greenhouse, and this account showcases amazing seasonal images of her greenhouse in addition to inspirational quotes for the day.
Emily Taylorson shows off her gardening, canning, preserving, and cooking. I give her mega props for the number of things she does. She even has chickens and farm fresh eggs! And, have you ever canned oranges… she has! I could definitely learn a thing or two from her.
The creator of Paper Pot Journey is both a hobby gardener and a hobby photographer which makes for some amazing IG images! Something I have noticed while searching gardens and produce on Instagram is that most of the accounts are from other countries around the world. I love to see the variety and differences in gardening across the globe, but sometimes there is a language barrier. This is one of those accounts, but the images are so rich and beautiful that I don’t even mind. That’s why there is a translation button, right!
Deb and I can’t wait to get our garden underway! Hopefully, in a few months, we will have some beautiful and healthy produce to share with you!
