I love creating little dining tablescapes. It’s one of my favorite things to do. I shared this look over on Instagram last week and thought I would share here, too. So, maybe you could get some ideas of your own. This tablescape came to me when I wanted some height at the end of our farmhouse table. You know I’m all about neutrals or woods and whites, so I grabbed a few things I had on hand and a few new items as well.
Here is what I came up with for this neutral farmhouse tablescape.
I started with this huge lamp that we made a few years back. (I will be sharing these in one of my Story Behind the Pieces posts soon. You won’t believe what they were.) Anyways…. that lamp added the extra height that I was looking for.
Next up was this large gold colored tray by Crate and Barrel. Using a large tray as a base in a tablescape brings a lot of little pieces together as a unit and makes it look less cluttered. I then started added other smaller things that were similar in color. This hand towel by The Loomia, a small shop in Charlston, SC, is one of my favorites to decorate with. Their hand towels are so versatile as they are perfect to use as runners down the middle of a table. I just kind of swooshed it on the tray leaving some of the tassels show. ???? (DANDD will get you 10% off, if you are interested.) I then added a live plant and another smaller wicker tray to hold a few of my white plates and I love the texture it added.
I picked up this fake cake and milk glass cake stand last year and have shared a few times. It adds such a fun look, minus the calories. Lots of people have been fooled thinking it was real and we all know a real cake wouldn’t last long around here. ???? And I added my absolute favorite Farmhouse Waffle candles by Katie Cloud. If you love baking scents, this is the one for you. (I have a code for her site also, if you are interested. DD10 will get you 10% off of your first order.) And added a cute little bottle of matches in the tablescape I picked up, too.
You may have noticed I added this Happy Home Pillow I picked up at Mudpie, and I LOVE it. It is excellent quality and adds SO MUCH texture. I actually just found their website last week and ordered a few things I will be sharing soon.
I hope sharing this inspires you a bit to create your own tablescapes.
