You all know I LOVE to swing on my porch swing. It all goes back to my childhood. We had a swing under a large tree way out in the back yard. I LOVED hanging out back there. I find porch swings very relaxing, whether I am sipping coffee in the morning or having happy hour with a glass of wine. The porch is my all time favorite place to be. In fact, we spend every waking minute outside because the great weather seems to go so fast her in Ohio. So you will always find me there. If you missed where I shared the landscaping around the porch, you need to read that post, too.
I recently decorated the porch for the summer months and thought I would share this little corner of our porch. It happens to be my favorite spot right now. The porch is 8′ deep by 48′ long. I am just sharing this side today and will share each section with you in the coming weeks. It’s my trick to decorating LONG spaces like this… break them up into sections. Keep watching for that! Here is my favorite corner of our porch.
Of course, my favorite corner of the porch has my swing. We have had a few of these swings that we left at the different homes we sold. We brought this one with us from the last house because we knew we would have lots of places for it. It was actually hanging at the rental also, come to think of it. I believe we got it from Wayfair years ago.
I grabbed this set of chairs when I saw them on sale because I wanted to bring a warm wood tone into the black and white. I love them. They keep going out of stock, but I did find a few more that are similar that I linked below.
The round white wicker table was one I found on heavy trash last year. It is in excellent condition. And the little “coffee table” type thing was just found at a garage sale/auction this past weekend. It is the bottom of an antique attorney book shelf. It’s going to get repaired but I am using it as is now. I fell in love with it and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
I LOVE my Ruggable rugs for the porch. Keeping rugs on a porch is so difficult when you live in a woods and have a dog. The top part is washable. I chose the black and white pattern to go with the exterior of the cottage, but they have so many choices. They are stain resistant and have been washed so many times and come out clean. I do have a code if you are interested in them. Use DEBDANELLE10 at check out.
I LOVE hanging some type of window above the porch swing to fill that empty space. We had a stained glass window hanging at our old house, but someone gave us this window right when we were moving. So rather than dig something out of the storage unit, this was the one. It was very simple to do. And it was free, so if it gets broken, it won’t matter. And, no.. it doesn’t swing much in the wind. It is pretty heavy. (I always get asked that question.)
I love adding pillows and a blanket to the swing to make it cozy. I have used that blanket so many times when I am drinking my coffee in the morning. It is from The Loomia. I have shared them a lot over on social media. I have a code for them also. Enter DANDD for a discount. They have the best turkish towels, bath towels, etc. My code works site wide.
I got the two little lumbar pillow covers on Amazon and covered up some other ones I already had. I wanted to be able to wash these. The Happy Home pillow is also a pillow cover that I got this year specifically for my porch swing. I love it and think it adds the perfect touch. The two pompom pillows on the chairs were a bit pricey but I grabbed them when they were on sale. They aren’t for cozying up with. They are more like jute making them perfect for the porch.
I always love lamps on our porches, too. These were made from an antique pool table that had the most gorgeous legs.
I think that covers everything. Even if you have a smaller porch, you can always recreate something similar. What do you think about this cozy little corner on our porch?
