One of my very favorite things to do is to put on a pair of comfortable shorts with a casual tee and add wedges and jewelry to dress it up. I love the balance of a casual yet chic outfit you can wear just about anywhere you go. I also truly believe in building a simple capsule wardrobe from Nordstrom full of basic pieces you can mix and match… comfy and casual to casual dressy that all go together. 

I thought it would be fun to share my favorite recent fashion pieces from Nordstrom. As you know, Nordstrom is my go-to for high-quality basics that I wear all the time. Nordstrom has FREE SHIPPING and FREE RETURNS which is a must when I am purchasing items online. They, also, have curbside pickup, for those of you who have a Nordstrom close by. You can, also, sign up for The Nordy Club.  Nordstrom allows card members to shop these sales early and earn points when you spend.  It really does pay off if you shop Nordstrom regularly.

HIGH WAIST JEANS: These jeans are by KUT and I’ve come to really love this brand and their denim. Not only are they comfortable and wearable, they’re also high waisted and slimming. These exact ones are currently on sale for $53 and are very high-quality so I recommend you try them!  Sizes are limited.  

WHITE CAMI: Trust me when I tell you… you need this cami. I wear this with everything all the time and have both the white and the black color. It’s really long so it’s perfect for layering underneath shorter tees and sweatshirts for some extra coverage. And… best part – it’s only $15. Hurry… this one will sell out quick.

LIGHTWEIGHT STRIPE SWEATER: This slouchy, oversized sweater is one of my favorites for spring and summer because it’s so lightweight. It’s great for wearing around the house, but is also good to throw on for the chillier mornings to run errands.

LINEN SHORTS: These flowy, casual linen shorts are under $50 and perfect for any summer occasion. I love the black ones, however, they do come in a variety of different colors. They are super breathable and have a drawstring waist making them so wearable.  I will definitely be ordering more colors.  

HIGH WAIST CUFF SHORTS: It’s so hard to find shorts that are actually age-appropriate, so I was super excited when I came across these. I love the length and the fact they are high-waisted and cuffed at the bottom. Also, these are under $30 which is an incredible price.  These run small so size up one or two sizes.

PUFF-SLEEVE SWEATSHIRT: Puff sleeves have been trending for almost a year now, so I don’t see them going away anytime soon. I love this puff-sleeve piece… it’s a sweatshirt but it’s short-sleeved and lightweight so you can still wear it during the summer.  I have worn this a TON and just ordered it in another color.

CASUAL SLIDE SANDALS: If you don’t yet own a pair of Birkenstock slides, you have to get some. They are seriously worth every penny. I wear them all the time with jeans and shorts on the more casual days. They’re great to have on hand even just going to and from the house.

WEDGE SANDAL: For a more dressy option, these wedges are the perfect pair…. and they’re actually comfy thanks to the elastic strap. I can wear them for long amounts of time and they don’t hurt my feet or give me blisters at all.
