We are in the thick of it. Painting our wood floors while being antique collectors and having lots of collections is not for the faint of heart. We have been moving things here and there for weeks. The painter got half of the house done last week. This coming week, he will paint the other half. And, then we will finally have our home back since last October when the sunroom was started. While we are putting our furniture back in place, it’s a perfect time for spring cleaning. I put together a Spring Cleaning Checklist of things I want done in every room. And, I thought I would share it with you so that you can get your home in order, as well.
A disorganized, messy, or dirty space creates chaos in my brain and keeps me thinking of all the things I SHOULD be doing. It is terribly distracting and worsens my ADD. Keeping an organized and clean home saves money because I can actually find the items that I have. It saves energy and allows me to check the projects off of my to do lists quicker, too.
Back in 1985 I bought my first home. And, like I am now, I carried around my little list and checked off things that I accomplished in each room. I did this in the spring and fall both. It felt like such an accomplishment when I was done. There is something about sparkling clean windows, fingerprint-less cabinet doors, and a clean refrigerator that is very invigorating. I want to feel that feeling again.
Come the warmer summer months, all of our time is spent outside gardening, mowing, porch sitting, tending to our flowers and ferns, camp fires, etc. I would love for this entire list to be marked off by the time gardening season begins which is in 5-6 weeks. So now is the time to get it done.
If you are on social media, make sure to follow along in stories as I will be sharing our progress. And, giving little tips here and there of how we are accomplishing some of the items on the list.

Thank you for this spring cleaning list! I did the month calendar and followed it everyday it was such a great list and I accomplished it all! I am looking forward to tackling this list as well! I’m a neat freak and an organized person and like you if it’s not organized I feel unsettled! It makes me anxious and I get overwhelmed until I accomplish the lthongs I have set out to do for that day! Honestly I could keep myself busy everyday in my home just doing little tasks and projects! Love watching you both! Your home is beautiful!
Such an incredible list! Spring cleaning is the best! A good reset just gets you ready for anything and I love it! Thanks for sharing!!!! I appreciate you two so much!!
You gals are such an inspiration to me and I love following you! Love your style…thanks so much for your daily posts.
