The Squatter’s Camp project is well underway. ???? The boys have been working so hard on this little project. I haven’t even begun to tell you all of their plans. But, just know, it is coming along so cute. If you have no clue what I am talking about, please do yourself a favor and read the rest of The Squatter’s Camp posts first. And then come back to the beginning. Start with the idea, then the plan and materials list, and finally, the post when the walls went up. Then come back here.
If you remember, Jake said his budget was $0. ???? Therefore, he has been asking around for some FREE resources. A man at his church had some old barn siding that he donated to this project. Jake brought it home and gave it a good power-washing. He got it all hung on the outside. He has been working so hard on this little structure.
He ended up hanging it, I believe with the help of his brother and his dad. And then we heard the hand sander. Deb and I couldn’t figure out what the heck he was sanding. We found out he sanded the entire structure because he said it looked so much better. And I agree. It gave it a smoother look.
I believe he is going to add some type of clear sealer to it, in order to protect it. And, he got his hands on some free metal for the roof. They have that installed but I haven’t taken photos yet of that. And, he got the brick floor down, added an adorable door, he is working on the shutters right now, amongst several other things that are a surprise.
Oh… and Deb even ran some electricity to the little squatter’s camp. Because we knew that when they are long done with it, we will want to hang some type of chandy in it. So right now, we had a few extra can lights that we donated to the little structure.
I cannot wait for you to see the entire thing done. I will keep updating as we go.
