I know some of you may not give two shits about what products I use when I curl my hair. BUT… it’s something I get asked about so much. So, I thought I would throw together a quick post about it. I think you know by now, although I may appear girly, I don’t like spending tons of time getting ready in the morning. That’s probably the only reason I would wish I was a man. ???? THE ONLY REASON. ???????????? Men can shit, shower, and shave in three minutes flat. It takes us a little more time to be presentable.
I do wear my naturally wavy (straggly waves) hair straight quite often and shared the products that I use. I use a lot of the same products when I curl my hair but just add a few to hold the curl.
Navy Search and Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner
I use Navy Search and Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner when I wash my hair. Which is usually only about three times a week. A quick blowdrying of my sweaty gym hair is good enough for me some days. But I swear by Navy Products. They have done wonders for my hair.
I use Navy Style Navigator next on my damp hair before drying. It’s a heat protectant so it will protect it from the blow dryer. Once dry, I spray on another light mist of the Style Navigator to protect it from the curling iron. I SWEAR by this product, too. I’ve never found a product that keeps my wavy hair from getting frizzy until I started using this.
On every strand of hair that I curl, I spray a light mist of the Living Proof Flexible Hairspray before I use the curling iron. It is a heat protectant and can be applied while your hair is wet or dry. And, can be used as a flexible hairspray. (I need something stronger for the final spray… see below.) I SWEAR this flex hairspray is what holds my curls all day.
After I am done adding a few curls, I give it a little texture with the Navy Pebble Beach Spray. It gives it just the right amount of texture and fluffs it right up. And then add hairspray to give it extra hold. I LOVE Kenra Volume Spray. This finishing hairspray works so well for me and doesn’t leave my hair crunchy.
I use the T3 SinglePass 1 1/4″ curling iron to make my curls. I purchased mine on major sale and I think it is well worth the price. I’ve tried to “curl” my hair with a straightener but mine works better with the iron. I’ve also tried so many other curling irons and I never like it as well.
Between colors, I will get the terrible gray stripe down the center of my part. I am not ready to let my hair go naturally gray, because I don’t have gray all over. My temples are very gray as well as a few grays sprinkled in here and there. I wouldn’t have pretty gray hair of I let it go. ???? It would be mouse-like… with a few tufts of white. ????
I use a great product to cover those grays between color appointments. Truhair Color and Lift is something I’ve shared before and I still use and love it. I only use it on the part and around my face, but it’s great stuff. It has thickening fibers that makes your hair appear thicker, also. I have a code for Truhair also… Enter DANELLE20 for 20% off of any Truhair products.
So that’s it… Let me know of any products that you use and LOVE. I would love to hear.

QVC Nick Chavez products are my “go to” hair products. Thirst Quencher Hydrating Hair Spray and his Advanced Plump N Thick Expander Thickening Elixir.
Your tutorial on IG with Deb narrating was the BEST! I really need to try the Navy products, I have lost so much hair since hitting the 40’s!
