We have been thoroughly enjoying our front porch of the cottage this year. I did a little rearranging that makes this space a little more functional. Every year, I usually add something different for our spaces in terms of flower pots, pillows, rockers, etc. It gives it a different look but still incorporates the things I already have. And freshens it up a bit. I wanted more of an eclectic look. So, I broke apart a few sets of furniture we have and placed them randomly in different sections.
Here is what I did…
Of course, I stayed with my typical woods and whites that I love so much. Now would be the time to pull in some bright colors with flowers, pillows, throws, etc, if you love that look. I tend to keep everything pretty neutral, even in my flower selections. I know that is boring to some, but Deb and I both get too over-stimulated with lots of color. We have been know to pluck our colorful flowers out in July. π So we stick with white flowers and green vines.
This porch swing is one that I had on the House on Winchester street. I absolutely cannot remember where I bought it but I found one similar here. I added a couple of wooden rockers this year and a set of outdoor wicker chairs that are really comfy. We moved the gas fire pit, that was out by the pergola swing last year, up here on the front porch. It’s so nice to use when the early mornings or late evenings are chilly.
This is a Ruggable rug which I love for my outdoor spaces because they can be washed. And, of course, I added a few pillows and a throw to this area. The white and black plaid striped pillow cover is only $12. I grabbed the lumbar pillow covers, set of 2, on Amazon this year and love them. And the other black and white pillows are reversible and only $15. You may remember when I shared these large white planters that look like stone. They are such great quality and easy to move, which is always a plus for me.
And…. you can see Ivy loves hanging out here on the porch with us. Her dog bed is one we got several years back but it’s a goodie. It is not only beautiful, but it is memory foam, and is washable. You can’t beat that.
I hope this inspired you in some way!

Exactly what we were going for.
Totally cozy! I know you love your porch!
We LOVE our porch!
I really love the mix of the black and white on the house and the natural and neutral tones and materials on the porch. I especially love how you added a wood frame to the old black window! It makes it more substantial and marries the house with the decor. You two always creat beautiful spaces! Have an awesome weekend!π₯°

I love how cozy and settled everything looks. The perfect blend of old and new. ππππ
Your porch is my goal for the house I plan on building! I’m currently renting the house I live in and the porch is painted red, which can make it difficult to decorate sometimes. Love the neutral colors on your porch π

That looks great! The red would definitely be hard to style, but you have done a great job. I especially love all that wood!
