We have been struggling. If you are new here, we were planning a new build, and then things went south with the lumber shortage, prices, etc. ???? We decided to go with the flow and plan a different type of build – The Woods and Ivy Cottage. Which is taking WAY LONGER THAN WE THOUGHT. So, we decided we need to make our surroundings at the rental comfortable. Because that is how we are. We have to love where we are otherwise we feel unsettled, bitter, and maybe a little sour.
Therefore, Deb and I decided to dedicate a few days to completely moving everything in the rental around so that it feels fresh. I will be sharing a post on how exactly we start this process soon.
BUT, I wanted to share the first little refreshed space here at the rental with you. While we are refreshing, we are adding Fall decor to the mix, too.
First off, do you remember where this cabinet was previously? It was in the dining room filled with my white ironstone. When we brought this cabinet into the living room, it felt like Summer because of the white. So I switched out my white ironstone collection with all of my large collection of yellow ware bowls for Fall. Who knows how long this will stay but I am loving the darker earth tones for this season. I added a few pumpkins in a few bowls and, of course, a huge 3-wick candle. They are my favorite! I also switched out some of my white pillows with these gorgeous knitted green ones. They are so soft and bring some warmth and texture into the space.
I added this basket to the top of my antique cabinet and added a few Fall sprigs and an artificial pumpkin. Oh… and I LOVE this picnic basket so much. It was my grandma’s picnic basket that I was given after she passed away. My grandma carried this to every single church bizarre. It held her food that she made for the gatherings… most of the time it was cookies or pie. It brings me such great memories.
Stay tuned for more of my new looks in the rental. We have refreshed pretty much the entire living room and dining room. And, we want to start on the kitchen and bedroom soon, too!

[…] say that, too. I could start a new collection almost every day if I wanted to. I shared another Fall look using my yellow ware bowls last week. In fact, stay tuned. I have a post coming up about vintage Halloween decorations […]
