Man do I have a lot to catch you all up on. The fountain in our pond was finally installed, we got new landscaping around the curve in our driveway, and now our antique lamp posts lining the driveway. The antique lamp posts have been a project in the making for 4 years now.
Adding lamp posts down our driveway has been a vision from day one of owning the property. We wanted to do this for several reasons. Antique lamp posts can add a touch of elegance and history to any property. They not only serve a functional purpose in illuminating the driveway and enhancing security but also have a cool historical significance. Add that to the fact that we wanted our property to have a very old feel and doing this added to that goal. Here are a few other reasons that you may want to do this type of a project.
If you watch our stories, you may remember the pile of old lamp posts that have been on our property for a few years. They all need globes and new wiring. We got them for a great price so that wasn’t an issue. However, six antique lamp posts popped up on the marketplace that were located 15 minutes from us. They were already wired and only one was missing the globe. So they were basically ready for installation.
We ended up getting them in place last weekend and Deb worked on the wiring this week. Like I said above, she installed a dusk to dawn sensor on the one so that they come on when it gets dark and turn off in the morning. Since they are all wired together, they all follow the first one. I love the way they look lining our driveway and am so happy with this project.
What is next for these lamp posts? Well, they are currently painted light blue which is how we got them. I am going to paint them black, maybe even this weekend as I would love this project wrapped up. So stay tuned for that. I will for sure be sharing that on social media and here, as well.
I will share the other projects really soon, but wanted to get you caught up on this one.
