‘Tis the season for campfires, football games, apple picking, attending fall festivals, and hiking through the woods to see the changing leaves. It’s also the season to go through my closet and purge anything that doesn’t fit. And, also, donate things that I no longer wear. I try to organize my closet before every season. It had me thinking about creating some type of capsule wardrobe.
Do you have a capsule wardrobe? Or have you ever thought about it?
I absolutely love the idea of a capsule wardrobe. First of all, I don’t like to think a lot about outfits, because I like to grab and go. Secondly, I’m a basics girl. Give me a solid color tee shirt, sweatshirt, and sweater and I’m a happy camper. All of those basics in my favorite earth tone colors would be really simple to create a capsule wardrobe.
While I was creating my donation pile, to the girls or otherwise, I made a list of a few items that I needed for this upcoming season. And I decided to put together a list of things that would work perfect for a capsule wardrobe. I chose random items that can all be mixed and matched.

I chose a mixture of tops from both short sleeved tees and long sleeved tees, to an oversized sweatshirt. Each of these items come in several different colors so they could easily be chosen for your specific color palette. They also can be worn in layers.
In this capsule wardrobe, I wanted comfort as well as fashion. So I picked a pair of joggers, some blue denim, and a pair of black ripped jeans. All of these pieces can be mixed and matched with the above tops.
Of course, I picked a few shackets because they are great for layering. They are so versatile and can be thrown over any type of outfit. There are several options including this one in denim and a few other options below. I also wanted to include something warmer and I thought the puffer vest was a great option.
All of these items listed are from JCPenney because they carry every day basic wardrobe staples which are my favorites. And JCPenney prices can’t be beat. I, of course, order my items online and have it delivered, but you can pick up orders in-store with fast & free pick up, too.
