OK… I just think this is the cutest idea ever. I saw someone else make this little soap dish over on Instagram and I had to try it out. And, if you like quick little DIYs, you will love this, too. I shared it on a reel during the blizzard last week, but I haven’t shared it here yet. So today is the day. And, I actually want to make a few more. This little DIY soap dish will look cute in the bathroom, kitchen, laundry area, etc. It spruces up your countertops with little effort.
All you need for this DIY soap dish is a candle stick of any type. The girl who made these originally used an old brass one. But, you could use glass, wood, brass, silver, etc. I had this wooden one in my stash and decided to use that to go with my woods and whites theme. And you need a small plate. I used one from our every day dishes that we never use due to the size of them. They are pretty small. A vintage one with a pretty pattern would look gorgeous. But, the ones I have are still in storage.
And you will need some glue. Now, I made something like this years ago. And, I know if you are going to be rough on them, you should use gorilla glue or something specific for china. I used my glue gun… only because this one is specific for decoration. So again, I would use something a bit stronger if you are going to actually use this daily.
Glue the two pieces together and you are done. See.. I told you it is quick and easy. Obviously, if you use gorilla glue, it will take a bit longer to dry. But, if you use the glue gun like I did, it takes seconds.
I have plans to make a few more of these so if you are on social media, make sure you watch stories. Because you know I will share my project there.
