We picked up some fabulous doors last week from an antique store near by. And I already shared with you what they originally looked like. They had the original green paint but I know myself and color. It’s a no bueno. I get very tired of it. Rather than going through the hassle of adding the green doors to the house and then wanting to strip them months later. We had them stripped by a friend now. BUT, we needed a place to keep the doors until we build next summer.
We have never had a headboard here at the cottage because quite frankly the bedroom has never been done. I don’t even think I have shown it but maybe twice. And that was when I shared the antique doors on our closets. And I believe when I shared our ceiling fan. It was driving us both crazy, but we just never took the time because we have been working on so many outdoor projects recently. But I think we found the perfect place to store these doors until we need them. Remember when we used a fireplace mantel as a headboard? That’s what gave me the idea. And once we moved here to the cottage, it became our actual fireplace mantel, which I still love.
Anyway.. onto the bedroom headboard decorate for fall.
These doors are huge. I believe they are 7 1/2 feet tall. We are thinking they will be used for bathroom doors in the master bedroom. I thought that would be so pretty. Either that, or doors to a large closet. Who knows… Anyway, I love them here as a head board. Of course, I added my favorite pampas grass wreath to the headboard to jazz it up for fall.
I decided to keep the rest of the fall decor in the bedroom very simple by adding a gold lantern to each side table. You may remember them from our porch at the rental.
I found these antique looking urns years ago at a flea market and have used them all over in my decor. Nothing says fall like these berry sprigs that I picked up at Hobby Lobby years ago. I love the wild look of them. And I added a simple white pumpkin to complete the fall look in the bedroom.
Like I said, we are so happy that this cottage is all decorated. And even more happy that the bedroom is done and put together. I cannot wait to see these doors in our new house, but for now I can enjoy them here.
If you want more Fall Inspiration, I have everything linked in one spot.
We gave the full tour of the cottage LIVE over on Instagram. Did you see it? If not, you can catch it here as I saved it to the feed. Anyway, I had a lot of people request different links for bedding. I shared links to the items that I could above, but thought I would share the bedding here, too. It is actually some random pieces that I picked up all thrown together. It is the look I prefer. Some of the items like the dust ruffle is older so I will link what I can.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

I pick up the gold, damask, feather throw pillow several years ago and cannot even remember where I found it, but I did find some similar. The ones linked below are the same exact brand. It is one of my favorites.

Like the lighting hanging for the ceiling. So wish my house was coming together like yours is it will get there one day.
thank you.. and yes, it will. It all takes time.
Since I started following you two my decorating has evolved. I learned that I also would rather have less or no color and found woods and whites my favorite, so thank you!

Love the rug. Do you happen to have a link?
Love the look! That big mirror is super as are the mirrors on the night stands. Mirrors add so much to all rooms.
Ok. You’ve got me thinking. I love all of the looks and decor you shared. Fall is so fun to decorate for. Can’t wait!!
