Are you on social media? If so, did you see that Deb and I shopped our storage unit this past week in order to find some goodies for our new porch? We moved from the House on Winchester in September of 2019. That was three full years ago. We lived in the rental with most of the items that we have now in the cottage. But, a lot of the items in the very back of the storage unit have been there since the day we moved.
I wanted to get part of the porch at the new house decorated for fall. Of course, I wanted to stick with my normal neutral colors for my fall look on the porch. Which include all colors of whites and different colors of woods. It’s my favorite because I feel so calm and peaceful with those tones. It is what I lean toward inside the house so I always carry that outside as well.
I love how my neutral fall porch decor turned out!
We have a bit to go before we get to move into our forever home. BUT, we both see this porch every single day from the cottage. And, we wanted to be able to enjoy it during my favorite season. So we first started by hanging the porch swing. Our porch on the house in roughly 40′ long by 10′ wide, with the front door directly in the middle. So I have plans to have a seating area on each side of the door. Each side with have a porch swing because most everyone gravitates toward them.. so we may as well have two.
Of course I needed some type of coffee table. This is one that I found at the Springfield, OH, flea market probably close to 25 years ago. It has been in several of our homes before landing currently here on the porch. It was an old dining table that was cut down to a coffee table height when I bought it. I painted it a few years back and it may get another full makeover soon.
I took a poll over on our Instagram stories and it was shocking to see that almost half remember this cabinet top. It hung in the old house as an upper cabinet for awhile, and prior to that, it sat in the laundry room. It held some of my collections. I love the way it looks on or porch because half of it is wood colored and have is white. The rusty buckets on the bottom shelf fit right in with our weathered feel.
On top of the cabinet top is an old flower box that I found during the 127 yard sales a few years back. We brought home a stash that I shared in a post if you are interested.
I thoroughly enjoyed decorating this porch in neutral fall colors. It is right up my alley. And, I am ready to get this entire house done an the storage units emptied.
I hope this inspires you to decorate some of your own spaces for fall.

It looks so good. Love the planked ceiling. ❤ So excited to see the rest of your home.
Thank you so much! I am so glad we went with the planked ceiling. Adds so much texture!
Love how your porch looks-so cozy! Can you give us details about the rug, please?
It is sold out and not coming back 🙁 I am going to round up similar ones because we have had serval questions about this rug! Stay tuned on our LTK.
You two are just amazing. I love seeing all of your design idea. I get so much inspiration from you both!
Awww…. thank you so much. We love that you are here!
Just love it all! And so funny, I have the same table that my Grandmother did the same. Cut an old dining table down and made a coffee table. Mine is not chippy white but stained and varnished. But I love it.
No way!! That is so cool. I love that!
Just when I think I can’t be anymore amazed with all that the two of you do. Deb creates a dream landscape yard and you take these pieces and they look as if they just belong together. I’m so excited and happy for the two of you and your new home and I look forward to seeing what the two of you do.
Thank you SO much. This is the best compliment ever! We are thrilled to get into our new home too. I can’t wait to share all of that!!
The ceiling is everyyyythiiing!!
Everything!! We love how well it turned out.
love the curves of that white basket — where is it from?
Oh thank you. I found that at a thrift store and painted it.
