After the holidays this year, I wanted a fresh new look in the family room. Well, the entire house needed a freshy-fresh because I was a little bored with it all. ???? You know how I am. So I scoured some of my favorite blogs for a little inspiration. Because quite frankly, I was in a fog after Christmas and had nothing creative going on upstairs in the old noggin. ????????
Our family room is a whopping 28′ x 15′. The fireplace is on one of the longer walls so that puts a twist on furniture placement. I like to keep the fireplace as a focal point. Speaking of the fireplace, it got a fresh coat of white paint and some shiplap. Check out the before pictures of this room and the original family room reveal to see the changes we have made over the last two years.
Keeping all of that in mind, I pulled our two sets of matching chairs up to the middle of the room into a big group. But, that left our original round coffee table looking a bit wimpy. So I went on the hunt for a new bigger one. Well, not a “new” one, but a “new” old one. ???? I mentioned to my dad that I was on the hunt and he said, “I think we have a big dining room table top in our stash in the barn.” Well… when he said that, we ran. ????????????????
Not only did he have a huge rectangular table top in his stash, but over in the corner were four antique table legs. You can obviously put two and two together. Deb cut down the table top to roughly 4′ x 4′ to fit our area. And then cut down the table legs to the correct height.
I think it fits our area just perfectly. Not to mention, I have a bigger space to poop up. ???? Shockingly, I ended up painting the entire thing white. I know…you’re surprised.
I gave the dining room a new look last week. And, I think I’m pretty much done with the freshy-fresh in the family room. I’m still looking for some type of long white chippy bench for in front of the window. I mentioned to Deb about making me one, but we will see. She usually does what I say. ???? I’M KIDDING. Don’t send hate mail.
What do you think about our ginormous coffee table? And isn’t Deb about the most handiest ever? She does such good work. Let me know in the comments or chat with me over on Facebook and Instagram.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today and sharing our every day boring lives with us. I appreciate it more than you know because without you, our lives would be even more boring. ???? I pledge my love! ????
Buh bye now,
Danelle
