One of the biggest repurposed projects we’ve accomplished to date is our bathroom vanities. Both of our vanities were something different. The vanity in the full bathroom was once an antique buffet that I picked up on a garage sale site. When you convert a piece of furniture into a vanity, you sometimes lose storage space. We didn’t lose much because we had little plumber boy run the pipes up the wall behind which he had specifically measured for this cabinet. But, I picked this piece of furniture that happened to be without drawers. ☹️
Two girls in this household, means there is two times the make-up. Without having drawers in our vanity, I had to come up with a clever way to store make-up that not only looks good, but is very functional. I’m not a fond lover of make-up bags unless we are traveling, because I like to be able to see what I need in one glance. When I’m painting on this old lady face, I need organization, people. ????????♀️ So, I came up with this idea.
I found this little wooden machinist tool box at a garage sale for $3.00. Yes, you read that right. They are normally ridiculously expensive. I think the patina on this piece is perfect for me. Number one, it’s distressed…. and it’s green. One of the three colors that’s in our house. ????
It fits perfectly between our two sinks so both of us can reach it when getting ready each morning. The three little drawers each have smaller compartments to keep everything pretty organized… unless Deb messes it up. ????
I usually leave the front little hatch door down because I think it looks cute that way. Of course, I have to poop up the top with decor, which usually changes with the seasons.
What do you think of this idea? Let me know in the comments or chat with me over on Facebook and Instagram.
Thanks so much for stopping by this little blog of mine. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. I pledge my love to you all.
Buh bye now….

Love the buffet???? and the tool box turned makeup storage????. You are helping me think more creatively! Now, when I’m out junkin’ I will be looking at things a little differently. Thanks for the inspiration! By the way, the flea market you mentioned in your stories with 2,000 vendors sounds wonderful! Wish I lived closer!!
Thank you…and it is a BLAST. So many good treasures.
Could I have more info on your flea market? I’vee always wanted to go to one.
