Antique and Vintage Finds this Week

  1. Teddee Grace says:

I always enjoy seeing how you display your finds. I’m old enough that some of the items you consider antiques are things I’ve had in my tool box for years. I know I have one of those folding wooden measuring sticks…I just looked those up and they are called carpenter’s folding rules and can still be purchased new. I think mine is yellow. Might be good in a fall vignette. I’ll have to look for it.

  2. Linda Hovgaard says:

I love how you love wood! Me too! Your collections are wonderful! You answered my question on that cast iron piece you are using for a candle holder. I was hoping it could be purchased. I am always on the hunt for such things…I also love heavy iron or metal items. But I realized that I have a really cool similar
piece. I’ve always used it outside but now I’m thinking I need to bring it indoors and put a big fat candle in it. Thanks for the tip…ha!

  3. Susan Trammell says:

About that big iron “candle holder”: I thought it looked like an old sprinkler base for an oscillating spicket. I remember seeing one similar on TV. They were used in public parks, estates, etc. I think around the turn of the century.
