In case you haven’t noticed, I have slowly been incorporating fall into my content. I’m not going full force yet, but it’s coming. Since we were living in Deb’s workshop (aka the cottage) last fall, we didn’t buy anything new. In fact, I’m not sure I really decorated that much because we were supposed to be in our house in August. As everything else these days, that date got pushed back quite a bit. But it made me not really in the mood to buy anything because we would be moving it. This year, I grabbed a few new fall items for the bedroom that I wanted to share.
When I think of fall, I think lots of warmer tones in my decor. My stark white summer pillow covers are switched out to warmer tones. And I start focusing on all of the different colors of pumpkins and the turning leaves. Since I already have a neutral color palette going on in our home, it makes the perfect canvas. I think we can all agree that me having every single thing painted white in our house was scary for some people. Ha! Even the contractors thought I was nuts. They knew that the walls, trim, and doors were all going to be painted white. But when I broke the news to them that the floors were also going to be painted white, you should have seen the looks on their faces. Ha!
By the way, a few of the contractors have been in our home since we moved in and said, “OK… I TOTALLY see what you were doing now and cannot believe the difference.”
Imagine if you wanted to paint a picture. You will always start with a blank canvas or a blank piece of paper. And then you start adding colors. That’s what I did with our home. I made everything white and then started adding all of our furniture. My colors happen to be earth tones and lots of different wood tones to give me the woods and whites feel that I love. OK.. on with the items that I bought for our fall bedroom.
Brown and White Checkered Pillow Shams
Artificial Baby’s Breath in Autumn White
Realistic Light Green Pumpkins
I am unsure which florals I will use in our fall bedroom look and which pumpkins, but I’m excited to get this all thrown together early next week.
I realize some people don’t decorate their entire homes for the seasons, but I hope that you can still get some inspiration to maybe incorporate into any room in your home. Whether it be decorating a side table or adding a cozy fall pillow, all that matters is what you love for your home.

Oh, it will be so fun to decorate for Fall after a renovation, even if it has to be next Fall. I know how projects can go.
Going to be so pretty!! I love Fall & using the neutral muted colors of all the gorgeous foliage & pumpkins! The saying “So glad I live in a world that has October” is definitely for me! Lol wishing you both a great rest of the wk!
Thank you and I completely agree! It’s such a beautiful time of year.
I bought the cozy throw and it’s like a marshmellow. So warm and soft and that was before and after I washed it. It’s beautiful. Next I’m going to pick up the duvet cover. You’re such an inspiration but fun to watch too. hugs to you both.
