The Products We used to Finish our Painted Floors

  1. Ellen Cousar says:

Beautiful! So many possibilities for this area. BTW. I saw the ad here for the gym floor tiles y’all got. I/2 the price as The Home Depot. Thanks!

  2. Rhonda says:

This bonus room is going to be amazing whatever you decide to do! The floor looks beautiful and thanks for sharing the finish as I have struggled with mine turning yellow on a couple of projects.

  3. Cathy says:

What gym floor tiles? I thought it was all pine planking.?

  4. Darlene says:

Love the size and finished floor. You’ve mentioned using it as a bunk room, office, etc.

It seems like a combo of the two would be helpful. Especially with so many littles in your life.
A safe place to play, nap, sleep, or watch videos. With a small office for y’all.

love all the interior stories and am so excited to see each room’s function, especially with all the great pieces you collect.

  5. Rhonda says:

I paint a lot of white furniture and have had pieces turn yellow from polyurethane also! Will definitely try this one! Thanks, as always, great info!👍🏼

  6. Julie Curtis says:

I can see it being a room that will transition over the years. At this stage in your life it’s perfect for an office/playroom combination. As the grands get older it would be a perfect bunk room. I can just see the cute bunk beds Deb would build.

Whatever you do I know it’ll look great!

  7. Jackie says:

Hi how do you clean them?

    • Danelle Harvey says:

With them being new, we have been extra careful with them so far, so they haven’t gotten very dirty. We run a vacuum over them like any other floor, and then do a quick spot clean with water if Ivy happens to bring a little mud inside.

  8. Milinda says:

I love the floors and the whole house! I’m just starting to paint my floors white now. I’m doing it myself. It’s a lot of work but I love them. Love watching all the you two do.

  9. Abby says:

thank you so much for you’re advice! For some reason the picture of your water based sealer will not show for me. Could you post the product name and any specifics of the product? We just put pine boards down in the room over our garage and I want to follow your steps! thank you so much!

  10. Lori Myers says:

I forgot to ask you did your painter seal knots in your
Pine floor before painting? Thanks Lori

    • Danelle Harvey says:

They did not seal the knots in our pine floor before painting. In the corners of the room where the warm daytime sunlight hits the floors, the knots do show discoloration through the paint.

  11. Michelle Meeuwsen says:

For your ProFinisher Water Based Poly, did you use Satin, Semi-gloss, or Gloss?
