Cozy Back Deck Decor

We added a deck on the back of the cottage a few weeks ago.  Well, we didn’t.  Deck Boy did.  We are SO HAPPY with how it turned out.  Again, we like to create lots of different spaces to hang out!  We love being outside and love having the option.  This cottage will be Deb’s workshop, a storage unit ???? , we plan on canning in this kitchen rather the the house.  We even thought about having family gatherings out here, too.  So we will get lots of great use out of this when we build the house, too.

Anyway, you saw the deck when it was first finished.  I hadn’t decorated it yet, but I recently got that done!  We have been spending so much time out here. Someone asked me over on social media how we pick where we will sit.  ????  We normally sit on our front porch to drink coffee in the morning.  It’s so comfy.  At night we light to sit out back here because it’s so quiet.  The pergola swing is also a choice, which we have been having cocktail hour there.  So it all depends.  I just feel so blessed that we have the choices.

Anyway… onto our cozy back deck decor.

Cozy Back Deck Decor

We definitely wanted an umbrella table and chairs.  Because I think umbrellas ad to the cozy factor.  We already had these chairs with another set but the table was way too big for here. (out of stock) So we went with this round table that will hold our umbrella and four of our old chairs.  I love the way it turned out.  The table has a grayish tone that matches well with the chairs.  So I grabbed this warm color umbrella to tie in the other furniture.

We knew we also wanted some cozy furniture.  I love movement… swing, glider, rocker.  Deb likes to sit still.  So we decided this couch and glider chair set would work so well for us.  It’s in the warm tones so it would match the rest of what we have.  This set came with slip covers so we cover them up every night along with the pillows… and it came with these two round tables.

At first, I had the tables in the donation pile. BUT, I decided to at least try them out here and I found out that I love the look of them. They are the perfect size.  We are using one as a coffee table and one as a side table.

The Rug….

I LOVE THIS RUG!  It’s a Ruggable and has all of the perfect colors in it to match all of our mismatched furniture.  I grabbed the hazel color in this rug.  It has warm and cool tones both.  Ruggable rugs are a two pieces system.  The top layer can be washed.  I will say that they don’t recommend indoor rugs outside.  I think this may be an indoor rug but I don’t care.  I just pick it up and wash it if it gets too dirty.  We don’t have much sun out back here to fade it so I’m not worried about it.

The deck is a composite so it won’t hurt it if the rug stays wet for a bit.

What do you think?  What is your own personal favorite spot to hang out in?
