Four Easy Ways to Subtly Introduce Winter Decor

THIS POST IS SPONSORED BY KOHL’S AND COLLECTIVE VOICE.

This is the first year we will be decorating for Christmas in our new home, and we jumped in headfirst! We got all of our old Winter decorations out of storage, but we needed to add a lot more decor this year due to having more overall space to decorate. Luckily, Kohl’s has a huge selection of winter decor items already available!

It is incredibly early, even for us, to start decorating for Winter, but we have an upcoming magazine shoot and didn’t want to procrastinate. I was expecting all kinds of backlash, because after all, it isn’t even November yet, but so many of you have expressed how happy Christmas decor makes you and that you are ready to start adding it into your own homes.

If you aren’t quite ready to put away your Fall treasures and add a full-size Christmas tree, I am here to show you how to begin sprinkling Winter decor items into your home. It will make the transition from Fall to Winter so much easier, and you can enjoy all of your seasonal decor that much longer!

Adding a Touch of Winter Decor

I rounded up a bunch of great winter decor items from Kohl’s to sprinkle in with our pre-existing Christmas items. I was so happy to see that Kohl’s already had such a great selection of Winter items already available so early in the season. Not only did they have a large selection, but they always have such affordable prices also. This is also a great opportunity to use your current Kohl’s cash and earn more for future holiday shopping.

Winter Trees

When I think of holiday decorating, I immediately think of a big-‘ol Christmas tree, but there are so many other ways to add greenery and foliage into your home without immediately adding the large-and-in-charge tree. I like to add smaller artificial trees on tabletops, fireplace mantels, and in random corners throughout our home.

One of the first things I added to my cart was this St. Nicholas Square® 16-in. Striped Artificial Tree Floor Decor. I love the size, the natural look of the foliage, and the little woven basket it comes in. This is also one where you must check the price! So Good!

I also mentioned that I like adding small trees to the corners and nooks of my rooms, and this St. Nicholas Square® Artificial Tree Floor Decor is perfect for that! It is 3-feet tall and comes in paulownia wood pot. I especially like that this tree has a good height without being wide and obtrusive.

This St. Nicholas Square® Flocked Artificial Christmas Tree Floor Decor has a different texture than the others with its flocked design and faux berries. This is another one that looks great stacked on a tabletop.

If you want a full winter vibe, then this St. Nicholas Square® Flocked Artificial Tree Floor Decor will do the trick with its snowy texture and coloration. This is also a great option if you prefer a tree that is more neutral in color.

Lastly, I picked up this St. Nicholas Square® Faux Driftwood Christmas Tree Floor Decor. This tree is totally different than the others in that it is void of foliage at all and is entirely comprised of muted driftwood. The small starfish atop the tree gives more of a costal vibe, but I love the neutral colors, the natural texture, and the fact that it is still 15″ tall.

Greenery

We add so much greenery to our house for the winter! Wreaths and garland can be seen strewn across our entire house, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t need more! We always need more! Ha!

Add a pop of color and texture to any wall or door with this Artificial White Berries Teardrop Decor. It is 2-feet tall, and I think it looks gorgeous hung from a door or closet. If you want a little more color, this Berries and Pine Teardrop Bells and Bow Decor is a great alternative with its red-and-white striped bow.

If you are looking for a centerpiece to your tabletop, end table, or coffee table, look at this Artificial Evergreen Arrangement in Bronze Bowl. It has a lifelike evergreen design with natural pinecones, and the bronze bowl is very elegant.

You can’t do winter decor without a good wreath. We picked up this Asymmetrical Gold Bell Greenery Wreath  as well as this Greenery Wreath Decor which is much more simplistic than the first. The second could be used as a DIY project if you like to add your own accessories to your wreath.

Ornaments

We added two new ornaments from Kohl’s selection. Both are neutral, wood ornaments, and look good sitting on a tabletop in addition to hanging from a tree.

This St. Nicholas Square® Carved Wood Bird Christmas Ornament is one of my new favorites! This ornament could go in a traditional Christmas tree, a small decorative tray, or it could stand alone on a tabletop or shelf. And because of its neutral-wood color, it could be used for every season. It is adorable and great quality.

Here is another wooden tree-ornament option. This Modern Tree Ornament is 4.5″ tall and is another great stand-alone piece or looks great adorning a larger tree.

Tree Collar

If you want to add your full-size tree without the traditional Christmas skirt, then you won’t want to overlook this Wicker Tree Collar. It is a natural color that will accent any type of tree and will fit around most tree bases.  It adds plenty of style without the need for bulbs and garland, if you aren’t ready to go all out.

Also be sure to check out Kohl’s Holiday Gift Shop online. They have gifts for him, for her, for the kids and babies, for the pets, and you can also shop by price range. Again, Kohl’s has so many options that you can easily find a gift for everyone on your list.

You can also receive an additional 20% off your online purchase right now!

  • I LOVE it ALL!!!!!! I am "Christmas Crazy" and plan on starting my decorating next week; I, also, after taking down actual Christmas things, will add other Wintery decor to keep the Winter from looking too barren and drab.

    • Christmas crazy is okay in my book! I think it brings some joy and hope to a dark and cold wintery season.
