We just got back from a fun and relaxing trip to North Carolina.  We went to see my sister, who lives in Greensboro, for almost a week.  She moved there last August and we had never been there to see their new house.  I should say OLD house.  Their home was built in the 1920s and it has all of the 1920s character left.  The one thing we did every single day besides drink lots of coffee, sing, laugh, etc, was visit antique stores and flea markets.  Deb and I came home with a haul and I will be gradually sharing each thing we found over the next couple of weeks.

We wanted to make the trip before the house gets started.  So, this was perfect timing as it will be started soon.  Anyway, we got home to several packages with one being a perfect picture for spring.  I’ve been wanting to give the entryway here in the cottage a little re-fresh and now was the perfect time.

Fresh Spring Look in the Entryway

I ordered this primitive rabbit canvas before we left and like I said, it was waiting on me when we arrived home.  I knew exactly where I wanted to hang it.  This picture comes in several sizes so I grabbed the one that worked above our antique coat rack.  We found that piece at a garage sale years ago an have never had a large enough space to hang it.  But, it actually works perfectly here in the cottage entryway.  The reason I absolutely love canvas pictures is because you can easily hang them anywhere due to their weight.  This one is actually just setting on the shelf, propped up against the wall.  I used a little sticky tack to hold it up to the wall so it won’t fall off.

The throw blankets that I hung on the empty hooks come in very handy.  They are close to the door for when we hang out on the porch with any visitors that may stop by, since the weather is so unpredictable here in Ohio.  I use the other hook to hang my bags that I use on the regular since they actually match my decor.

Found Treasures from our Trip

If you were watching our stories over on social media, you may have been screaming through your phone, “BUY THE CROCKS.”  We found these gorgeous crock at a consignment antique store.  They were marked $29.99.  They aren’t in perfect condition, but I don’t care about perfection.  We saw several other ones on our shopping excursions that were $100-$150.  So, I am glad we grabbed these.  

I was looking for a little bench to put these crocks on when I was redecorating this entryway.  Do you remember this little piece?  We found it at an antique garage sale last summer and use it on the porch for awhile.  It sat in a barn forever so it is really worn, but I think it was part of the base of an antique attorney cabinet.  

I love redecorating our spaces as it makes me feel like we are living in a new space.  Stay tuned to social and our website to see where everything else lands.
