Gorgeous Old Fountain Repurposed

Did you hear?  Our neighbors had a HUGE fountain that they no longer wanted.   Of course, they knew who to call.  ????  We get messages and phone calls a lot asking if we want certain items.  The fountain has some issues.  Number one, the pump doesn’t work, which is no big deal as we could replace it.  However, there are several cracks.  And there is an entire section that fell apart after Deb drove it home on the skid loader.  ????   Yes, we had to go pick it up with the skid loader.  It is very tall and SO DANG HEAVY.  The owner, and Deb and I, all thought we could handle it.  Basically, we all got down to lift it up on 1, 2, 3….. NOTHING.  (BUT LAUGHS)

We lifted a little bit at a time with a pry bar, piling stones under it with each lift.  It helped us get it up to a higher level where we could lift it up vertically and then roll it to the truck.  The problem was, how were we going to get it high enough to get it onto the truck.  This fountain is HUGE and HEAVY.  Since we are less than a mile away, Deb ended up driving the skid loader down.  And we rolled it onto the scoop so she could drive it home.  The question once we got it home was, where the heck will we put it?  I mentioned that it would be really cool if we placed it on the side of the driveway  as you drive into the woods.  Plus, it would be the easiest place.  ????  Which is what we did.

Here is where the gorgeous old fountain landed that will be repurposed some how soon…

Gorgeous Old Fountain Repurposed

I have some plans for this gorgeous old fountain at Christmas time.  I can see it in my head and I have already ordered a few things for it.  It may not get a full makeover for fall because the winter season is coming up so quickly, so keep watching for that. But at least it is in place for all of the plans that I have for it.

You can see the cracks that it has and the parts that are broken.  I think it is beyond repair to ever be able to work as a fountain, but I can sure think of several different things to do  with it.. including winter greens, spring plants, and so much more.  If you want to see my Pinterest board where I am pinning different ideas for this fountain, follow along.

I think we got a prize for free.  What do you think?
