I shared this salad over on our Instagram stories and I had SO many questions. This is one of our go-to salads when we want to eat healthy…. And, because it’s SO GOOD, we don’t feel cheated. Our first choice for the shrimp is to grill outside but in Indiana, weather is permitting. Especially here at the rental. We don’t have a garage or even a carport. So, the next best thing is to use our air fryer. If you been around for a minute or two, you will have noticed how much we talk about our air fryer. We use ours almost every day. I vowed this year to share over on stories, every time we use it just so you can get ideas of your own.
This grilled shrimp salad is one that is so simple to throw together and takes under ten minutes. And have I mentioned it’s SO GOOD!
To thaw the frozen shrimp, we run it under hot water for a few minutes and peel it if we accidentally buy them with peels. ???? We then pat them dry really well between paper towels. We use whatever ingredients we want to on the shrimp as far as spices. But I have NO CLUE how much of each. I just know that when I make something, I use a little of everything. When Deb makes something, she uses A LOT of everything. Hers is always better. So use A LOT. ???? When I watch her use spices, my face is like this ???????? And, I’m thinking… “Wow… that’s A LOT…..” Again… her’s is ALWAYS better. So just when you think you have a little too much spice, add more.
When we were in NOLA, we stopped at The Pepper Palace. The entire store was filled with pepper spices… from hot sauce to every type of dried pepper you could think of. We bought The Big Easy Cajun Seasoning. Sometimes it’s available on Amazon, and sometimes, it’s not. It is so delicious. These spices look similar if you can’t find what we actually have.
You can be as creative as you want here. We use olive oil but recently grabbed this Thrive Algae oil at the store and we are really enjoying it. It has no taste. So…. after adding our oil to a bowl, we add LOTS of seasoning. LOTS. And remember… add more when you think you’ve gotten too much. ????
Since we bought that cajun spice in NOLA, that seems to be the one we have been reaching for. But our other combos are garlic powder, salt and pepper…. Old Bay Seasoning …. or just plain salt and pepper. We use whatever our little hearts desire. Toss in the shrimp and then separate them all in your air fryer. We cook them in the air fryer on 400 degrees for about ten minutes.
We love the combo of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, green onion, avocado, and cheddar cheese and then splash it with a little balsamic vinegar and oil.. But obviously, any veggies that you have will work.
It truly is so good and one of our go-to meals. We probably have this grilled shrimp salad at lease once a week for a higher protein, low cal meal option! Let me know if you make this and love it!

Oh you’re welcome. It’s SO GOOD.
How do you get your romaine lettuce like that? I have salad envy!
hahahahah I cut it really thin and little. It’s the only way I like my lettuce. Otherwise, I don’t eat it all.
What a beautiful salad
I can’t wait to make it
It’s SO DELICIOUS.
