Did you hear the news? We bought a few antique pieces from a friend. There is story behind this, too. But, first… how many of you are saying, “YOU don’t need another piece of furniture…” or “Don’t you have an entire storage unit full of stuff?” Why yes… yes we do. ???? I can always make room for more. We want to go through the storage unit and start selling some of the items we don’t want. It was so hard to make a decision on what to keep and what to sell when we moved 2 1/2 years ago. Do you even believe it had been that long. So, I know there are several things that we don’t want. Stay tuned to our stories when that happens. I will be selling a few pieces for anyone local.
Now… let me show you one of the pieces we bought and get to the story.
Story time… we sold our old house 2 1/2 years. (Remember when we sold it?) The girls who bought our house recently took a different job out of state. They told us they had an accepted offer on the house. A friend of ours, who we have know for YEARS… text us and said, “I bought your old house.” She is a collector of antiques and all of the good stuff. I asked her if she was going to sell any of her pieces and she had a list. So we paid her a visit and bought a few pieces. This antique china cabinet is one of them.
So let’s think about this. Our new friends sold our old house to our old friend. Our old friend has the best goodies ever. NOW…. Our old friend’s goodies will be in our old house and our new house both. ???? I like that scenario.
I knew I wanted to use this cabinet to store my favorite spongeware collection. But I really had no clue where I was going to put this piece until I brought it home. And the deal was, we weren’t taking any of these pieces to storage. So I angled it a bit by the front door and it fits perfectly. I love the warm color on this piece and the detail on the top. And, I think it fits my style perfectly.
I don’t have clue what room this will go into when we get the new house done, but rest assured, I will find a place. Keep watching stories… and even here on my site. I will be posting all of the pieces we are incorporating into the cottage, soon to be house. It includes something that we named Ramsey. And, you may see a world record on how much stuff I can put into this cottage.
We may earn a small commission when you use one of our links to make a purchase.
This piece is absolutely stunning right along with your spongeware collection! ????????????
Thank you!! We love this little space.
It is so lovely. It looks great with your spone ware. Good chioce.
Thank you Jenny! We love our spongeware.
With respect, I love your site, esp the antiques, but I hate that the photos of your beautiful pieces are covered over with Walmart ads. So annoying and a waste of time…
We are so sorry.. we will be getting our new website soon and hopefully will not have this issue.
