We went to the Springfield Ohio Flea Market Extravaganza last week. I shared a few things that we were looking for in this post. Sadly, we were unable to attend like we normally do. The weather was TERRIBLE. Our tradition every year is to head down on Thursday, spend the night, and then shop early on Friday. Fridays forecast was rain all day long until around 2pm. So we ended up heading to the flea market on Thursday evening so it wasn’t a complete wash. We found just a few things but I still wanted to share our small antique haul from last week.
I’m not going to lie, I was a bit disappointed. I feel terrible for the vendors because Friday was awful. I did hear that people were stuck in the mud trying to get out of the fairgrounds. And that there was water in front of several booths so deep that it was hard to shop. I can’t imagine. I used to traipse through any type of weather to get a good deal. The older I get, the worse I do in inclement weather. Ha! It’s not worth it anymore. Here are the few things we found at the flea market, an antique shop that we stopped at on Friday, and the Facebook Marketplace over the weekend.
We came across an absolutely gorgeous booth who had their items displayed like a storefront. It was so full and fun to browse. That booth was probably one of the first ones we happened upon. I grabbed the architectural piece from an old dresser or hutch, which I already have an idea in mind of where to hang it. It was $35. Did you see the one we hung above the door in Deb’s workshop that is now in the entryway of our home? We also have one in the kitchen above the doorway going into the laundry room. Stay tuned for where this one lands.
At that same booth, we found an old beer bottle. Deb LOVES them and we always think about starting a collection, but they can be pricey. This one was only $15 since it had a big chip on the top. Those things don’t bother me at all. I think it’s nice to see some wear and tear on our antique pieces.
This apple cookie jar was the very first piece I bought. I have a good collection of the Watt apple pottery. The only real reason I have it is because I found a bunch of different pieces at a garage sale for a few dollars. So when I see it, I pick it up. This has a top that is cracked and glued back together. It was only $5 so I couldn’t pass it up.
I LOVED these planters as soon as I found them. And the fact there were two matching ones was even better. They are metal and will look perfect on the porch or even in the garden entrance. I’m not sure where I will put them yet, but love the chippiness of them. They were $15 each.
These four spongeware bowls were found in a booth in the antique mall on Friday on our way home. The booth was 30% off so they were $4 each which is a great price. I have a lot of other odds and ends pottery pieces in these same color tones. So, when I find pieces like this, I add them to my collection.
We were working away in the garden on Saturday and one of the girls sent me a Facebook Marketplace listing. It was this gorgeous french country style headboard or footboard listed for $40. At least I think that’s what it is. I have lots of ideas for that including using it in the garden for some type of back drop or a trellis for small plants. Or, like the architectural piece above, I may hang it above a doorway. I was thinking possibly our screened porch or the front door. I’m unsure yet, but I will let you know and of course share here and over on social media.
That was our little antique haul from last week.

You look very tan. Do you have a favorite tanner ?
Thank you. I typically use the St. Tropez self-tan bronzing mousse. I talk about it in this post: https://debanddanelle.com/must-have-qvc-finds-for-march/
