Simple Thanksgiving Centerpiece Idea

I recently shared a reel over on Instagram of this Thanksgiving centerpiece idea.  It is so simple.  I grabbed the riser out of the storage unit that Deb made a few years back when we were at the old house.  It sat on our outdoor table under the pergola and I would decorate it every season.  I had SO MANY questions about the riser.  So I thought this post could be a double duty one.  You can check out closeups of the riser and see my Thanksgiving centerpiece ideas all at once.

Simple Thanksgiving Centerpiece Idea

I started with the base, being the riser that Deb made for the centerpiece.  It will hold all of my Thanksgiving decor.  I grabbed this multi-colored maple leaf garland for fall.  It is 5′ so I wound it around inside the riser.   And I just started adding my random height wooden candlesticks (unavailable) and my favorite beeswax candles.

And then I added just a few white pumpkins to pull it all together.  And, make it look more like Thanksgiving.  I would definitely move this arrangement if we were to have guests eating around this table.  But, it looks so pretty for the entire fall season all the way to Thanksgiving.

Deb’s Homemade Riser

The riser is roughly 12″ wide by 52″ long.  It fits really well on our 8′ farmhouse table.  She used a 2 x 12 for the bottom of it.  And then added some chippy boards she had in her stash for the sides.  You could really use any type of boards for that.

The little legs are actually 2-inch pieces cut off of a few bed posts she had laying around.  They made perfect little squatty legs.  This took her less than an hour to make.  She then painted the raw wood using the technique we use a lot to make new wood look old.  This little riser comes in so handy to decorate for the different holidays.

Let me know if you make one and send me some pics.  Or better yet, tag me on social media.

Also.. stay tuned for a few more Thanksgiving looks… I think I am going to do a Thanksgiving mantel soon.
