Deb and I attended the Springfield Extravaganza in May and I don’t think I have ever shared the one and only purchase we found. We went with an entire list of things that we were looking for several upcoming projects. Unfortunately, we found nothing that we went for. It was half way through the day and we came across this white cabinet. It was very dingy and dirty, but it was a great price. We had just talked about maybe a different cabinet in the kitchen here in the cottage so we knew the measurements. We loved it when we first saw it and noticed that it had the Star of David on the front. So I asked the guy where it came from.
He didn’t know for sure but figured it came out of an old synagogue. We loved it. It was the perfect size for the spot in the kitchen that we wanted it for. So we bought it.
One of my favorite things to do is add different cabinets to my upper part of my kitchen. Do you remember that we did that same thing in the old house? I think it adds so much interest. You may be thinking… why in the heck would you have this piece in your kitchen. BUT, it happened to be the perfect size for the space. And the perfect size for all of our supplies. It’s the cabinet to the right of the stove which holds our oils and vinegars for cooking. And, it’s different and unusual.
I ended up cleaning it really well and giving it two coats of white paint inside and out. The shelves inside are adjustable which I think is really cool for an old cabinet.
I love the old wooden knob and the lock. I think it fits perfect here in the kitchen in the cottage. How cute would this be as a medicine cabinet in the house when it’s built. I just realized that I don’t think I have shown you the entire kitchen yet. That will come really soon. I will be sharing pretty much every square inch of the entire cottage once it’s decorated for fall.
Let me know in the comments if you know anything about this Star of David cabinet we have in our kitchen.
