I owe you guys an update on The Woods and Ivy Cottage. If you don’t follow on social media, you would have no clue what is going on. So I thought you needed an update and get up to speed on the happenings. I shared when the contractors had the walls up and the roof on, but that was the last time. Things are moving right along… not fast enough for us, but they are moving. ????
The contractors have gotten so much done on the Woods and Ivy Cottage in the last several weeks. They finished the siding and roof. And this past week, they wrapped and trimmed out the porch columns. We are hoping to get the ceiling fans and lighting for the porch delivered this week so they can hang them. If not, we will do it.
They hung drywall and they are currently working on mudding and taping. Once the drywall is sanded, they will be spraying primer on the walls and ceiling getting ready for us to paint. The furnace guys are supposed to start and finish this week so that will be good.
What they have to do yet INSIDE the cottage:
Prime walls and ceilings
Finish the electrical
Install furnace
Hang interior doors – bedroom and bedroom closet, bath, mechanical room
Once it’s out turn to take over, we will, of course, start by hanging a few chandeliers. ???? It’s what we do. This is something we have done in every single flip house so we aren’t going to stop now. Hanging a gorgeous light fixture and burning a candle gives us energy and creativity. After at least ONE light, we will be painting the walls. I’m unsure yet what color. I’m leaning towards SW Pure White which is the same color we used in the camper. I love the color, but haven’t completely decided. It’s something I need to hurry up on because I’m hoping to be painting in the next week or so.

Add our fun touches.
I’m sure I am forgetting something but stay tuned for all of the updates here on my site. I plan on sharing EVERYTHING here.. including our choice of flooring that we JUST ORDERED and why we chose what we did.

I would love as you’re doing all this to know how you think when planning the layouts of each room once finished. This process is hard for me to visualize and everything you touch seems to look great. I guess I’m asking to know that with blank walls/spaces, how you go about figuring out where to put everything.
Can’t wait, this is going to be so fun to watch!
I am so excited for the two of you. You are getting so close to being able to live there and it sounds like it will be gorgeous. Can’t wait to follow along with you.
OMG! So exciting!! I cannot wait to see the first chandy go up!
They are up! And, I love them.
