Have you ever had something that you needed to do in your home, but you kept putting it off? And, then you finally just ignored that project and you really didn’t see that it needed done anymore? Ha! That was us with the closet doors in our laundry room. Do you remember when we ran to an antique store to pick them up after seeing them posted on Facebook? We removed the glass so that we could have them stripped. The trimmers installed them when our home was being built last summer. When we moved into our new home last December, we had every intention to get the glass in the antique doors done ASAP. But, that didn’t happen until recently. So, I can proudly say that the antique doors in our laundry room are done.
I already shared these doors once the trimmers got them hung in this post. So if you missed it, make sure to check that out, too. As I stated above, we got so used to the doors having no glass that Deb would throw her coat through the opening of it. It was very simple. Ha! But, as you probably know, I keep a running list of to-dos for our home. Whether it be to finish a project, touch up paint in a certain room, find a new piece of furniture for someplace, wallpaper, switch out rugs.. you name it. I have a million things. I believe it’s because I have a creative brain and a lot of times it’s very chaotic. AND, I like organization because of that. So I can slow down some of my thoughts by lists. I know some of you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Even though I ended up not seeing the content of this closet through the open windows in the antique doors after awhile, it was still on my list to to-dos. Recently, we decided to tackle some of the things on our list. This closet being one of them. Deb installed the glass as I handed her each piece along with the trim to hold them in – 30 total. That part of the project literally took us about an hour total. I then decided to spray paint the glass like I did on our entryway coat closet. These doors took about 7 coats total. It is so easy to do. That part of the project took probably another hour, but I worked on something between each coat. So basically, something that drove me nuts for almost a year took less than 2 hours to get done. Isn’t that how it always goes?
We decided to throw a little festive party next week for some of our friends. And, there is nothing like an event to get things done in your home. Several other projects will be completed over the next few days. And, the bigger projects will be posted too, including the wallpaper in the dining room. I want to start that so bad so if you are on social media and want to see things in real time, make sure to stay tuned there too. Everything eventually ends up here, as well.
