All Things Bathroom

Cabinet filled with Vintage Collections

I love switching out my decor.  One of my favorite things to do is rearrange my china hutches to give them a fresh look.  We have a china hutch top above our washer and dryer here in the cottage bathroom/laundry room.  I first shared my celluloid mirror collection and my chamber pots this past fall and loved the look.  It is so funny.  I have had this chamber pot collection for years.  I may have started collecting them before I knew what they were.  Maybe I thought they were casserole dishes.  ????   Anyway.. toilets DISGUST me and actually I have a bit of a phobia about them.  But, somehow I can handle chamber pots and they don’t bother me.

I rearranged this cabinet recently and added a few different items to my collections.  And, I really love the look as I stuck with all woods and whites.

Cabinet filled with Vintage Collections

We found this cabinet top at a garage sale several years back and paid $15 for it.  It works perfect here above the washer and dryer.  We don’t need it for laundry essentials because those items are tucked away in a closed cabinets.

I started by adding this little child’s play dresser that I also found at a garage sale for $15.  Look at the cute little handles.  ????  I have a little obsession with little drawered pieces, not even going to lite.  Not only do they look cute in cabinets like this, but they work so well on surfaces to hold mail, remotes, etc.  I randomly added my chamber pots here and there making sure they were disbursed evenly.

My celluloid hand mirror collection got tucked in a rustic wooden box that Deb made me years ago.  And, I added my grandmother’s old sad irons.  She gave them to me years ago because she knew I love old things.

I left the SEATS STERILIZED sign and the baby water thermometer to add interest.  And kept my vintage wooden clothes pin collection here as well.  Someone threw them into a garage sale box that I was buying because she was going to throw them away.  I keep my laundry pods in a basket, as it is not only handy, but it adds so much texture in this cabinet.

I love how  this laundry room cabinet turned out.  And I am sure I will be adding to it here and there over the next several days.  Do you decorate with collections?  You already know it’s my favorite way to be.  ????????

  • I love that little dresser. You must dig a lot to find so many gems. I used to haunt thrift stores and antique malls until we had to downsize to a 2-bedroom condo. My only real steal was $33 dollars for a round oak dining table. I did have to sand the heck out of it and re-stain it but it looks fabulous and is just the right size.

I'd love to follow you thrifting again in the future.

    • WOW! I'd say thats quite the steal! We have found so many treasures throughout the years. Its always fun to go because you never know what you'll find!

  • I actually went on a hunt for old fashioned clothes pins when I saw your display! I found round snd square and have them displayed in my laundry room! Thank you for the inspiration!
