It has been so much easier for me to focus on one room at a time with this move.  And, I have mentioned several times that we are now working on getting our bedroom put together.  When I say “put together,” I mean decorated and organized.  When we moved in December, we plopped our bed and a few other pieces in this room and haven’t touched it since. If you missed it, we got a new rug for this space and I love it.  It brings so much warmth in here and matches the headboard we flipped perfectly.  That rug sparked my creativity to keep the ball rolling.  We bought a couple of chairs that were on major sale at Walmart.  One is here by the sliding door and the other is beside the fireplace, which I will be sharing soon.  I worked on that yesterday.  Anyway, I wanted to share this cozy corner in the bedroom today because I love how it turned out.

Cozy Corner in the Bedroom

As you can see in the top picture, it will be a little cozier soon.  There is supposed to be a light hanging over this spot.  We want an antique chandelier, so we have our eyes peeled for the perfect one.  That will really bring up the cozy factor.

I added a sisal rug in front of the doorway that we had in the cottage. I decided that I wanted some type of plant stand in front of the side of the stationary sliding door.  So, I used this little high chair that I have had for over 30 years.  It used to be green.  And, I remember stripping it when I was in my early 20s.  Oh the memories!  I added an old chippy block of wood to it for height for my artificial fern that looks so dang real.  (Use code DANDD10 for 10% off of anything on the site.)  And, of course, every chair needs a pillow or two.  I grabbed these last year on Amazon.  They are a creamy white color and add a lot of texture with the embroidery.

For the best part… we added a stained glass window to this cozy corner in the bedroom.  It not only brings some color into this space, but it looks so pretty when the sunlight hits it.  I will never forget when we bought this window.  We were walking into our favorite flea market in Springfield, OH, years ago.  I saw it at the very first booth we stopped at.  It was marked $100 so I asked if he would take $75.  He did… and we started out our shopping experience that year with the first sale at the first booth.

It hung in the stairway at the old house for awhile!

This stained glass window isn’t in perfect shape as it has a few cracks in the glass, but that never bothers me.  It’s worn and tattered just like it’s owner.  Ha!

We have a bit more to add to this room before I call it done and move on to the dining room.  But, I think it’s coming along pretty nicely.  It feels fabulous to get this room put together and organized.

  • Another beautifully arranged spot! The embroidered pillows are so pretty and I love the idea of a little high chair for a plant stand too! My friend just picked up a couple for the same purpose while we’re at a flea market a few weeks back.

  • The cozy corner in the bedroom looks fantastic! It's such a clever use of space, creating a warm and inviting nook. The combination of soft textures and the choice of colors really makes it stand out. Great job on this cozy addition!
