Fall Decor

Decorating the Kitchen for Fall

Have you gotten a lot of fall inspiration around the web this year?  Or are you one who are still in 100 degree temps and simply not ready?  Either way, it’s OK.  I happen to start early because of what we do but I actually enjoy it.  Because it seems like I get to enjoy it a lot longer.  Why go to all of the work of pulling out the fall tubs from our home decor room for just a few weeks. I recently started decorating the kitchen for fall and love how it turned out.  There are a few more things I want to do, but wanted to share what I have done so far.

Did you hear the saga?

First off.. have you heard the saga on our refrigerator and freezer.  UGH.  I really hate complaining about things that are pretty trivial in comparison to lots of other things going on in the world.  But, when is the appropriate time to start getting irritated?  Ha! I don’t want to go into it all, but just know that we ordered our appliances in January, 2022, and our refrigerator and freezer just got delivered in July and August, 2023. We closed everything in December, 2022, so everyone has had their money since then.

We still needed the cabinet doors installed on the fronts of them since they are built-ins. And they kept pushing us off week by week.  Finally I sent an email stating that it needs to be done.  (It was a little bit more stern than that… Ha.)  And, they showed up.  However, there are still issues that need resolved which are supposed to be fixed this coming Monday.  I will reveal the final results of that area here as well as social media once it’s done.  Anyway, this area I’m sharing today are the cabinets on that wall.

Decorating the Kitchen for Fall

This area of the kitchen is really fun for me to decorate, no matter what season.  I’m a symmetrical type of decorator.  When I have two sides, I love for both of them to match.  So I went down to my home decor room to see what items that I have two of. The first thing that popped out to me were these huge lamp bases. Do you remember where we got them and what they were previously?  We have similar ones in the family room that I talked about in a different post.  They were actually on our porch last year as lamps, but I had Deb turn them into night lights for me.  So I placed one on each side.

If you want to see how to turn an old lamp into a nightlight, check out this post.

I have had these silver urns for awhile now so I thought they would be perfect.  Here they are originally on my fireplace mantel that I styled awhile back?  While I love mixing different metals, I didn’t like that they look so new in this setting.  So, Rub n Buff to the rescue again. If you haven’t tried the simple trick of transforming something with Rub n Buff, you are missing out.  It comes in a ton of different colors.  I used European Gold for this particular project and love how they tuned out.  It gave them more of the antique look that I love.

I placed an urn on each side of the sink to keep things symmetrical.

And then I added the berry stems that I grabbed from Hobby Lobby YEARS ago.  I’m pretty sure that I got these when we owned our storefront which was maybe 2012.  And, they still have them in their store.  I love that they look wispy and natural. I added an artificial pumpkin from my collection that I grabbed this year in the orange color to match the berry stems.  And, I can’t believe I love the color. Because you know how I am when it comes to color.  Ha!

And then I added a candlestick and some of my wooden utensils in an old crock to bring in more warmth to this area.  Both sides got a large wooden tray to pull all of these items together.  And, of course, one of my favorite fall candles scents. Ha!

Check out more fall candles under $15 here.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope this gave you some inspiration for your own home.  Stay tuned for the cabinet door reveal and more fall decor in the kitchen.

Check out all of our fall posts throughout the years as I rounded them all up in one place for you.
