Front Porch Makeover Decor with QVC

I have been compensated by QVC and ShopStyle for this post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This front porch makeover was part of the deal Deb and I made to each other, when we realized we would be here at the rental throughout the summer.  Remember… she wanted to makeover the laundry room.  And, we both wanted to do a backyard makeover and I wanted to hang our porch swing.

Well.. you know how one thing always leads to another.  I couldn’t simply just HANG my swing that we grabbed from storage.  I had to do an entire front porch makeover in the process.  Keeping in mind that this is a rental, all of these items that I used can be incorporated into our new front porch.  Which I cannot wait for, by the way.   ????  Our front will be HUGE and will hold lots of fun stuff!

Without further ado, here is our front porch makeover project reveal at our rental!

Front Porch Makeover

If you’ve been following along on Facebook or Instagram, you’ve seen this before picture several times in our stories.  It looked so sad.  ☹️ The wrought iron railings were not only outdated, but they were bent and some of them were actually loose.  We replaced all of the wrought iron with 6×6 posts.  I already shared a post on that project on how we did it.  (Yes, we approved this with our landlords and they compensated us.  ???? #1 question)

I already told you that I knew I wanted to hang my porch swing that was in storage, which we’ve had for years.  In my book, you can’t have a porch without a porch swing.

I don’t know if you know HOW MANY different seating areas we will be making. ????  It’s a thing with us.  We like to have many, many options.   I wanted something to dress up each side of the front door here at the rental.  Because it looked a little plain to me.  So, I grabbed these old shutters that we had in storage and gave them a coat of black paint.    Now for the best part… the decor.

Front Porch Decor with QVC

You already know my love for QVC.  You can find anything and everything at unbelievable prices.  Lots of items have FREE SHIPPING and lots of times they offer easy pays.  QVC has been my GO-TO site for just about everything.  So… of course, I shopped QVC for my front porch decor.

We recently received this monogram doormat for our front door and thought it looked so good.  It sticks with my woods and whites theme really well.  And since it had the black lettering, I wanted to pull black throughout the rest of the porch decor.   FYI – It’s on sale for $34.46.  It’s excellent quality, by the way.   You can also use the code HELLO10 for $10 off your second purchase to save even more.

Indoor / Outdoor Lanterns

The porch swing and shutters were hung, so now came the fun part.  I saw these Brass Indoor/Outdoor lanterns and just KNEW they had to be incorporated.  The matte finish on the brass is such a great look.  The flameless candles come with the lanterns and have a remote control and a 6 hour timer.  We decided to hang a lantern on each shutter to give it some interest.  I cannot tell you my love for these.  ????

These brass lanterns would also look so pretty on shutters inside your house, too.  You could attach them on an old shutter or an old door you have in your home decor.  This gold lantern also comes in a bronze color, if the gold isn’t your thing.   I rounded up a few more indoor/outdoor lanterns from QVC.  They have such a great variety.  (Click the pictures for the direct link to products. ????????)

 Black Decorative Urn

OK… I absolutely cannot even with these black decorative urns.  They dressed up this front porch so well and they look so good with the white siding.  ???? They come in three colors:  black, white, and a stone color.  But, they are substantial in weight so they won’t blow away but they aren’t too heavy you can’t move them.  These urns will look good in any decor.

National Tree Company Cypress

Here’s the deal.  Remember… this is a rental.  We don’t want to spend any money on landscaping, etc.  I found these artificial cypress trees and absolutely LOVE them.  They look SO REAL.  And, the best part is that we can take them with us when we leave.  We have even thought about actually planting these pots under the ground and then taking them with us when we leave.  So it LOOKS like we landscaped but really didn’t.   These cypress trees are on clearance right now for 28% off their regular price

QVC has all different types of artificial shrubs you could fool your neighbors with.  ????  These little globe shaped ones would look cute in a planter on your porch, too.  (Click the pictures for the direct link to products. ????????)

Artificial Flowers

I don’t know about you but I had THE HARDEST TIME finding flowers in our area due to THE CORONUS.  Seriously.  By the time we could leave the house, everything was picked over.  So, I decided to use artificial flowers for this front porch makeover.    It’s less to water and less to take care of. ????  I found these white poppy plants that are large enough to make a statement which is what I wanted.  They come in white and pink.   QVC has such a large variety of faux plants.  I rounded up a few more that I love.  (Click the pictures for the direct link to products. ????????)

I’ve had my green spheres for YEARS and can’t remember where I even found them.   BUT, these indoor/outdoor mercury glass spheres come in a set of 3.  AND, they have timers.  I may need a set of them.  ????  They come in many different colors and would look so cute sitting in an old crate.

I hung a few live ferns to blend in with the artificial everything else and called it good.  I cannot tell you how happy this little porch makes me.  Adding a few pretty things to your front porch creates such a haven.  It’s where we drink our coffee in the morning and I LOVE it!

What do you think?  ????

  • Love this and I have those ugly wrought iron posts also that I'm hoping to replace like ya'll did. :) The black and white rugs! I could have sworn you said where you got those and I even looked it up but now can't find it. :( I also don't see it on here or your other front porch post or under shopping. Which, it could also be me totally not seeing it and skimming right over it aaaaand I also blame all this on menopause!!! Thanks!!!
