All Things Outside

Outdoor Recliners on our Back Porch

I recently worked on an area that has not been touched here in our home, believe it or not. Ha. I am one who likes every spot decorated and to look and feel cozy.  There are actually a few spaces that haven’t been touched so they will be coming, too.  The first one is this back porch of ours.  This porch is off of the kitchen and laundry room area which houses Deb’s grills.  I wanted to create a cozy spot for her since she spends a lot of time out there.  And since she loves recliners, I decided to add some outdoor recliners on our back porch.  And I couldn’t love them more.

Outdoor Recliners on our Back Porch

We have lived here for a year and a half.  All last winter, this porch had a wood pile so we could easily grab the wood for our fireplace.  But, of course, that was a temporary situation.  Like I said above, I wanted to create a space that not only looked like us, but was comfy.  These outdoor recliners come in a few different colors, but I loved the goldish brown pads to stick with our neutral color scheme.  The black metal detail on the bottom gives such interest and texture to the chairs.

I added this rug to the porch to ground the furniture.  Some of you may remember that it used to be in our kitchen in front of the fireplace for awhile.  It’s perfect for this space as it’s the same color palette as the chair pads.  It wears really well so it’s perfect for the porch ares, too.

I added a old dresser to this space for some warmth. I wish I could remember where we got this but we’ve had it for years. It’s rickety making it perfect for the porch area.  I love the handles on it.  The makeshift candle sticks are from an old porch post that Deb cut and had in the burn pile.  They work perfectly for outside.  And, believe it or not, I had the old picnic basket in the donation pile after cleaning out my home decor room. It works perfectly here to hold my geranium and since it was being donated, it doesn’t bother me if it gets ruined.  Also, I had the brown pillows that are no longer available, but thought they looked pretty on the chairs.

I hope this gives you a little inspiration to cozy up your own outdoor spaces.  This didn’t take long at all to throw together.
