Today’s in-feed inspiration is devoted to adding textures to your walls! Deb and I are adding beadboard to our kitchen wall as part of our new series, From Flat to That.
As you know, we don’t add a lot of color to our home, so we make up for that by adding a lot of texture and depth. Let’s take a look at some other accounts across Instagram that have gone beyond the traditional painted wall to transform their space into something special!
Zenia Olivares is renovating her old home, and like me, she tends to use a lot of natural colors in her spaces. Just look at her dining room renovation! She added so much texture to this room. Not only did she add a beautiful wallpaper, but she also added texture in both the ceiling and the built-in shelves. It turned out so good!
Look at this beautiful floral wallpaper that Shawna added to her entryway. I love the soft swirling lines that the flowers, leaves, and birds create. It also adds just enough color without being overpowering.
Emily transformed her space by using a full-wall mural. I normally wouldn’t think to add a giant globe to the wall, but it works surprisingly well. I love the brown tones and the dimension of the natural landmarks. Timeless!
Julie has a variety of stunning floral wallpapers in her home, but she also used a white beadboard as a backsplash behind her stove and cabinets and I am all for it! It sticks to her white color scheme while adding just enough texture to make it stand out.
You don’t always have to add texture to your walls; you can also add it to your ceiling! Cindy did exactly that, and it is stunning when paired with those natural wood beams. Also, be sure to check out the bold wallpaper she used in her guest room!! It is darker than what you would see in our home, but I can admire it none-the-less.
Textured paneling and wallpaper used to be all the rage, and I am happy to see it making a comeback. How have you added texture to the walls in your own home?
