In-feed Inspiration

In-Feed Inspiration: Guest Room

With Summer in full swing here in Ohio, we have been spending most of our time outdoors: creating our garden area, landscaping, building the chicken coop and run, and really… just all the things!! But on days when the weather just won’t cooperate and we are forced indoors, I have been making plans for our guest bedroom. So, today’s in-feed inspiration is going to focus on all the beautiful guest rooms!

We really don’t have company all that often, but when we built our new home, we set aside extra space for guest rooms. We occasionally have family from out of town stay with us, but up until this point, we basically had an empty room waiting for them. I am currently planning one of the rooms and will, of course, let you know when that is done.

Guest Room Edition

The Jonesy Life

Can we just talk about this color palette? Goodness, it is beautiful. Lacey Jones is a designer with a modern bohemian appeal, and while she uses a little more pink in her decorating than I do, I am smitten with the woods-and-whites and golds that are incorporated into her designs. I would definitely be willing to stay in this guest bedroom and bathroom.

Sunlit Mountain Home

Ashley focuses on home styling with simplicity. What sets her spaces and images apart from the last one is that they are much more moody, and I’m actually here for it! The natural lighting in her home is beautiful, and I of course love the neutral tones incorporated into her decorating. Her guest room is simple and everything it should be… inviting!

First Surrey Home

We are going to switch styles again with Sophie Howard’s modern Victorian-styled home. She recently added a touch of green to her guest bedroom, and because green is a color found so often in nature it is still acceptable in my book! We use touches of green in a lot of our decor, especially with our faux plants. And, I am big-time peeping that white fold-out sofa bed!

1826 Farmhouse

Michele is a thrifter, gardener, and has an enchanting vintage farmhouse! Between the framed beach photo and the chapter books at the end of the bed, her guest bedroom gives me relaxing costal vibes. I love the vast number of plants she incorporates into her home, and I would also like to note that she has an adorable dog named Oliver. He’s real cute!

Natasha Habermann

Natasha features her cottage in the countryside from the 1800s. In her renovations, she uses a lot of salvage materials and local antiques to bring back the old charm to the updates she has made to the home. Does that sound familiar? Anyway, look at this queen bed that she squeezed in this little guest room! And, the outside view is not bad either. She has done an amazing job with this home.

10 Essentials of a Cozy Guest Room

Yvonne of Stonegable Refined Country Living offers up 10 easy ways to make a guest room more inviting and comfortable for your guests. Some of these may seem like common sense, but there were a few that even I may need to add!

Do’s and Don’ts of Hosting Houseguests

Lela of Organized-ish gives you houseguests 101! She gives tips on what to do and what not to do when entertaining guests overnight. One tip I really appreciated: you don’t have to entertain constantly! Entertaining guests can become stressful, but it’s important to remember that they want downtime and time to themselves just like you do! This is a great little article.

Okay, that’s it for now. Hopefully, you enjoyed following along and maybe even found a little extra inspiration to spruce up your own guest room or space. Blowing up an air mattress just wasn’t doing the trick, and it definitely didn’t mesh with the rest of our decor. We will be so happy to have a cozy space available for our family when they stay.
