One of my favorite things to do is style side tables, coffee tables, and buffets.  It takes little time and makes such a big difference in your space.  Today, I styled a small little table that we have off of the kitchen here in the cottage.  We call it our breakfast nook.  Of course, I wanted to use some vintage items and add a little spring to the area.  Let me show you what I came up with.

Neutral Spring Centerpiece

You all know, this cottage is one big space.  We wanted to create a few smaller spaces to make our area feel cozier.  By using a large leaded glass door such as this, or a big window, you can do that without blocking light.  It also makes a pretty back drop for the table centerpiece. 

I always say this… so excuse me for saying it again. ????  But, when I style surfaces, one of the easiest things to start with is a base.  A base can be a basket, cutting board, old tray, a large platter.  In this case, I used an old barrel top.  

And then I started adding some of my favorite vintage items.  I used a crock full of wooden spoons which happens to be one of the first collections I started in my early 20s.  One could pick them up at garage sales for 10cents.  I still buy them when I see them for a dollar or two.

I added a crock full of metal numbers.  How cute are they?  As soon as I saw them, I had to have them.  They are from an old cash register and look so cute tucked into plants, as well.   Add them to the top of the list of my favorite things right now.  

I added a candle to a white crock bowl that I collect  and added my little cast iron banks that I found at a thrift store around Christmas.  If you want to go down a rabbit hole with those, check them out online.  These little banks were made in the 17-1800s.  They made them in every shape knows to man… including animals, cars, etc, and they are so fun to read about.

Of course, I added a spring touch to the table with some white cherry blossom stems that I have used for a few years now in my spring decor.  Earlier this year, I grabbed this pitcher because it looks vintage.  And I will be able to use it for years to come in different spaces.  It even looks cute without any flowers in it, which means it is so versatile.
