New Garage at the Woods

I love hearing how excited you guys are for us to get started on this entire building process.  I get messages all the time asking WHEN things are going to happen.  Well, your guess is as good as ours.  The Woods and Ivy Cottage can be started any time soon!  ???????? ????????     As we wait on all of the boys to get going with this project, we are trying to get a few things in order that we have to do ourselves.  One of the things we will need is a place to store the Polaris and all of our garden tools while we are living in the cottage. Well, keep scrolling for our new garage at the Woods.

There is a little place in our home town that sells little sheds.  As we were driving by one day a few weeks ago, we saw sheds with an actual garage door.   So we stopped and talked to shed boy and got the scoop.  How perfect would a little garage be on our property for all of our goodies?

New Garage at the Woods

We definitely needed our new garage to have a man door on the side.  And we wanted a window for natural light.  So we decided we wanted our little garage to look exactly like our house and the Woods and Ivy Cottage.  They will all have white siding and brown roofs to stick with my woods and whites theme that I love so much.  Now we had to decide where we will have them deliver the new garage.

There was a little opening in the woods that we used to use as a driveway but had to change the driveway location.  It actually made a perfect location for the new garage for two reasons.  It’s located off the back of where the house will be…  AND… it closed up that opening.  Bye bye, world.  ???????? ????????

Our Plans for the New Garage at the Woods

Once our new little garage was delivered, we knew we wanted to make it all cute.  ????  We want to add some decorative hardware to the overhead door to dress it up.  Maybe add some magnetic windows and magnetic hardware to make them look like carriage doors.  AND…. of course, we want to landscape all around it and add a window box for flowers in the Summer.

Also.. if you notice… the approach at the overhead door needs some type of ramp.  Shed boy asked if we wanted to buy one but we told him we would figure something else out.  Our friends so happen to have a HUGE piece of concrete that will work perfectly for this space.  We are in the midst of trying to figure out how to get it here.  ????  This should be entertaining.  Stay tuned for all of these projects.

P.S.  The only thing that is holding everything up from us being out in our camper in the woods A LOT, is the fact we don’t have internet.  We want to be out there working in the part of the woods that needs cleaned up, revamp our little tree stump we want to turn into a gnome house, and the old lady porch swing.  But when you need the internet for your job, it’s a must to stay here at the rental.  We have a few internet boys coming to the property to see what our options are.  I will keep you posted on that issue.  Let’s hope they can figure out something.

Did you know that there are so many different hardware options as far as dressing up garage doors.  I went searching and found the cutest things.  Keep watching for these projects and more!

  • We have the magnetic things like you are showing on Amazon to make them
look like carriage house doors and WE LOVE THEM! They look so real and are so easy to put on and move. You will love them!
Your garage is so cute and fills that big hole in!! I want somthing like that to store our antique overflow in until we get things sold in our booth. I would like it to block us from the neighbors view too, THEY ARE NOSEY! LOL

  • Love it!!! Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeves! We got the magnetic door windows and hardware....GAME. CHANGER!

  • The little garage is perfect. I've seen videos where people have "dressed up" their garage doors with the magnetic hardware (and even fake windows). I'm glad that it's also providing some privacy from the old driveway opening. You're on your way!! Small steps....

  • Did you mean to say, we definitely needed the garage to have a “MAN” door on the side? This made me laugh ????
I love the garage by the way, looks great! Man door and all.

  • Your blog is excelkent, the garage is a great addition to your farm for te present & future use! Great idea!
