This post was written in collaboration with Ruggable.  Of course, all opinions are my own.

NEWFLASH:  I’m one of those people who have a high sense of smell.  It was really good when my girls were young.  I could smell the food they were into when they weren’t supposed to be.  I remember once, we had people over.  The girls disappeared for a few minutes.  I said, “Someone is into the peanut butter jar.”  Our friends said, “How in the heck do you know?”  Because I could smell it from two rooms away.

It’s not a great thing to have sometimes.  ???? I can smell “BED”on people…. BED smells like dirty sheets.  ????   Dirty upholstery doesn’t smell terrific to me either.  ???? This is why we have slip covers on everything.  My nose is SO SENSITIVE.  And, I think THE WORST…. is dog smell on rugs. ????  Dogs stink.  I’m sorry, they just do.  Even a few weeks after bathing, they still smell like a dog.  Even this perfect little sweetie pie! ????????

Have you ever heard of Ruggable Rugs?

Ruggable makes area rugs and runners that you can actually wash in your washing machine and dry in your dryer on low heat.  ????  I mean, come on.  How clever is that.   I cannot tell you my excitement level.   You all have seen Ivy rolling around on my rugs over on Instagram.  Remember I said, I think all dogs stink.  Well, now there is a way to wash my rugs without ruining them.  We recently switched our rugs out on our stairway landing and bathroom with a Ruggable in the Marie Grey Taupe design. I absolutely LOVE it.

The Marie Grey Taupe Rug has the color gray which I needed on my landing because of my stairway railing.  I LOVE the fact that it has the warm-toned flowers to match our floor.  I think it matches my decor perfectly and I couldn’t be happier.

Rug and Pad

When you purchase a Ruggable rug, you will need one of their special pads to hold it in place.  Place the pad where you are going to want your rug.  Next, start at one end of the rug and literally push it onto the pad and into place.  It almost acts as velcro.  I just picked up the corners on the other side of the rug, pulled it tight, and then went around and pulled any wrinkles out.  It stays EXACTLY where you put it, because it’s non-skid.

Different Styles

I’m telling you.  I had the hardest time picking from all of the great selections they have through Ruggable.  They pretty much have designs for everyone’s style.  Like I said earlier, I love how my new rug matches my stairway banister and my floor.  You guys should check them out.  Especially if you have a dog or small kids.  I mean, a rug is really one accident away from being ruined.  Ask Ivy.  She never throws up on the wood floor.  She always runs to a rug.  ????  Why is that?  ????

So let’s review…. shall we?   Ruggable rugs are stain resistant, machine washable, safe for pets, and non-skid!

  • Thank you for the info on these amazing rugs. I have seen them advertised (while playing candy crush...lol) and wondered how they would stay in place. How cleaver!

  • Love my Ruggable. I purchased to go in my front door hallway where my big dogs (labs)lay at night. This was an experiment because they have destroyed other rugs. However, after one moth of good stinky dog use and traffic I peeled off the top layer and threw in the wash. No special effect or instructions. It came out looking just like new!!Love it!! I’ll be buying more.

    • YES! That is exactly what everyone else has said too. I washed the one in our bathroom just to test it out and it was perfect too.

  • I’ve been looking at these rugs and this is the exact same one I was going to order. It looks beautiful. Now that I’ve seen it in your house, I’m definitely going to order it

    • The pad comes separately, but the site makes that perfectly clear which one you need.

  • I had been looking at these because I want a bigger rug for our kitchen. I am intrigued by the washable part of it because, we too have animals who NEVER throw up on the bare floor. Plus,we are not those people whose house looks like no one actually lives there. The reviews on the Ruggable site are great but then looked on Amazon and people were not so enthusiastic so I got scared. Now I am thinking it is worth a try!
