Our Range Hood Insert by ZLINE

I shared a post about our range hood in the cottage a few years back.  That range hood is by ZLINE.  And we love it.  It has such a unique look and matches our decor so well.  When we were in the planning stages of this house, we gravitated toward ZLINE products again.  Because why mess with a good thing?  However, for this house, I wanted Deb to make the range hood. And, I wanted it to be a focal point of the wall with the stove.  So we were only interested in a range hood insert.  Did you know that ZLINE sells those as well.  Today, I wanted to talk about our range hood insert by ZLINE, because we are quite impressed.

Our Range Hood Insert by ZLINE

Let’s go over the details of the insert first.  This range hood insert is made of 430 grade stainless steel, so it’s tough.  The steel baffle filters can be popped out and are dishwasher safe when they need cleaned.  ZLINE has all different sizes of range hood inserts with different CFM.  This particular model has 700 CFM.  (CFM is how many cubic feet of air the range hood exhausts every minute at full speed.)  It has a high performance 4-speed motor and it is pretty quiet for how powerful it is. It has a built-in LED light that we use every single day.  And, speaking of the motor, it comes with a lifetime warranty.

While we are talking range hoods….

I thought I would point out the range hood that Deb decked out for our kitchen. Because I love how it turned out.  Like I said, I wanted this to be an accent wall.  I didn’t want upper cabinets in this house so a large range hood just made sense.

She added simple trim around the top and the bottom of the range hood.  And then she added a few 1 x 4 boards vertically to give it some interest.  As you can see, we added two LARGE antique corbels to each side of the hood.  We actually bought those at a flea market last summer not knowing at all what we would do with them.  Since they are so big, they wouldn’t fit just anywhere.  But they fit here just perfectly.  I am so glad we picked them up on a whim.  Adding items like this to our home makes it unique and unlike any other.

Note:  We had the builder frame and drywall the actual box for the range hood insert from ZLINE. And like I said above, Deb trimmed it out.  We watched the guy install the range hood insert and it looked really simple.  So if you are a do-it-yourselfer… this wouldn’t be a hard project.

  • It all looks wonderful. I must admit to being intrigued with what is in that lovely casserole dish. Haha.....if you are as good in the kitchen as you are at decor I'm sure it was spectacular.
The range hood is perfect. Brilliant in it's concept and so well executed.
