This post has been a long time coming. I have been very open and honest about my hair loss situation from the start. And, I shared it all over on this post. At that time, I was so afraid, anxious, confused… all of the above emotions and more. I went for a few weeks not knowing what in the heck was going on and why I was losing so much hair. It wasn’t until I talked to my hair stylist and my alternative doctor within a day of each other that I started putting the puzzle pieces together. I had hair loss from having Covid several months prior. A game plan was set in place with different hair growth products. And, to this day, these are still some of the products that I am using for my hair loss.
I did a bunch of research regarding my hair loss, including online articles and talking to friends and my stylist about different things to do. Since I lost 90% of my hair, I was absolutely desperate to make sure it came back. Yes, you read that right, 90%. I was nearly bald. Being on all of the social media platforms, I heard many stories from people who lost a little to a lot. And, from people who lost it ALL. Some people lost it and it grew back right away and some people said theirs took forever to grow back. So I was going to use every single product and do anything that I could to make sure I didn’t have a permanent situation on my hands.
First and foremost, scalp massage is absolutely necessary. I learned during my research that if you lose hair this fast, your hair follicles can die. You want to make sure to massage your scalp to help the blood flow to those follicles which encourages new hair growth. You can use your fingertips to massage but I had a this little scalp massager. So I used it every single day morning and night. I used it when I added my hair oils before washing, as well. That is very important.
Like I said above, I used several different things for my hair loss issue because I was so desperate. When Amazing Hair Savior reached out to me after seeing my social media stories, I added their hair oil to my routine. I used a two step process… the hair oil that I massaged into my scalp before washing my hair (twice a week) and this for the rest of my hair to stay healthy. You can use my code DANDD to save some money, too.
Castor oil is another product that I used before washing and I use a drop or two a day for my scalp. This is the brand I have been using. This is a great thing to use to tame your new growth when it comes back in and sticks out like a clown. Ha!
I added Nutrafol to my routine of vitamins because I saw so many people who had great results with them. And, I added extra B vitamins to my daily supplements. When I went to see my doctor last October regarding my hair loss, they recommended that. While my hair is continuing to grow, I will also continue these two things.
When I first starting seeing lots of hair loss, I asked my online friends about it. The one experienced about 30% loss and she suggested this shampoo and conditioner treatment which she got off of Amazon and said it worked great. I started using that immediately. I am still using it and will do so until it’s gone. Since my hair is coming in really well, once this is gone, I will switch back to my regular shampoo.
I have used this Navy Treatment Serum for years. This is something that I automatically add to my routine after washing my hair and it makes a huge difference. Before my hair loss, I was very thin in the temples probably from aging. This serum filled it in really nicely. I do have a code for Navy so make sure to use DANDD for extra money off.
When I visited my doctor in October, they strongly suggested adding daily collagen. I grabbed this brand off of Amazon and have loved it. Funny… Deb has always had very thin hair. She started using this every day, as well, and noticed a difference in the thickness of her hair after a few months. There was a lot of new growth, so I know it works. Collagen isn’t only good for hair growth, but it’s great for your skin and nails. Come to think of it, I have noticed a huge difference in joint paint and muscle aches. Before using this, I hobbled out of bed every morning and I don’t do that anymore. I bet that’s why as I’ve never put two and two together.
Once you start seeing new growth, be very gentle with it. Like I said above, I still massage my scalp several times a day gently. I think of my new baby hairs as new grass seeds. Ha! They are very delicate. So I didn’t do a lot of vigorous brushing or styling. I usually keep my hair up in a hair tie which are very gentle on your hair.
I had some other things to get me through my hair loss journey to make me feel more like my normal self. And, that was a few hair pieces. I found this messy bun scrunchy that looked so much better than my few strands I had left. Thankfully, I had enough hair to get into a teeny tiny bun on top of my head, so I used this scrunchy to make it look fuller. Someone commented on social medai that it looked like a rooster with all of the wild ends sticking out, but you can tuck them in. Or you can even cut them off.
I also grabbed this pony tail when my hair got a little fuller all over my head and I created a few looks from it.

Hi! Thanks for sharing the products you are using to regrow your hair! I have a question regarding the Navy serum. You mention that you’ve been using it for years, and then say that you were thinning at the temples when you lost your hair after Covid. Were you using this product already when you got Covid, but you were still thinning at the temples? But, it has helped with hair growth post Covid? I’m trying to
decide if I should add this one to the regime for growing hair back. My temples are thin.
Hi, Regina! I think it is worth a try from my own experience. I started using this years ago when I was experiencing thinning around my temples (not Covid related). I thought it helped tremendously. With Covid, I experienced all over hair loss and I continued to use this product to help with regrowth.
Hi Danelle. So glad Amber from Amazing Hair Savior contacted you. It's an amazing product and has helped my hair through & post menopause. Highly recommend!
I love to hear that it has helped you as well! I am so thankful they found me.
Hello Danelle thank you for sharing the products you used. I had chemo and a hysterectomy about 28 years ago and my hair thinned and seems to be getting a little more thin now a days. Can you tell me which product you think was the most beneficial and helped you the most? Do you think the amazing hair savior products were better than the rosemary castor hair oil? I’m using Alaya hair essentials hair support for about 3-4 weeks and I’m seeing less fall out when I shower so not sure I’d try the nutrafol plus it’s so expensive. I did try their serum but didn’t see much results. Thank you for any suggestions
