I just wanted to pop on here and share a little repurposing idea we came up with. I think it’s going to work perfectly for what we need….actually what Deb needs.
If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook you would have already seen my garage sale haul. I got a wild hair at the last minute on Saturday and decided to just drive around aimlessly looking for garage sales this weekend. I found a few. ????
I found all of these goodies for a grand total of $16. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the little antique smoking stand as soon as I saw it. I have to admit, though, that I have a thing for little wooden drawer cubbies, because they can be tucked in anywhere in your decor.
The side table on Deb’s side of our couch is a little piano bench that I found at a garage sale. It has lots of character which I love and it fits perfectly, although she has said more than once that she needs some storage. She was using a little wooden box but obviously we could see the clutter and it drove me crazy.
I removed the four screws that held the little box to the table frame. I then asked Deb, very nicely, to cut off the top edges to make them straight and add a piece of chippy white barn siding directly to the top. I then painted it, of all colors, white. ????
I’m pretty sure you are shocked about the color I chose. ????
It’s the perfect size to fit under the lamps that Deb made out the legs of an antique pool table. And, it holds all of the items that were in that little wooden box.
Deb walked in the house with this cute little piece made from the original frame of the smoking stand, while I was in the middle of my paint session.
She cut and added a piece of barn siding to the middle of the frame and then told me to do my thing. I drug it up to my office/craft room and stenciled on each side.
We are the perfect little team on projects like this and I think we come up with some real dandies! They go especially smooth when she does what I say! ????
Thanks for stopping by. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram where I share a few different pictures than what you will see here.
I pledge my love to each and every one of you!
Buh bye, now.
