This spooky Halloween mantel came to me in the middle of the night. This happens when my brain is less active and can be creative. I wanted to create a mantel with a ghost. So I was brainstorming ways to make ghosts and even looking on Pinterest. I finally decided that I wanted large one that lighted up. I had this vision of a large ghost hanging on the side of the television. But also thought about hanging it above the television and wrapping his arms around it.
I then thought of big sticks or twigs on each side of the television so it looks like the ghost is hanging in the trees. And, I wanted it woodsy looking.
Once I was coherent enough in the morning, ???? I decided to search Amazon for a huge ghost that lighted up. I found one that I thought would look so cool. It actually arrived in one day. It was better than I thought. Deb hung it for me from a hook in the ceiling.
The arms are actually bendable which makes it so cool. I could wrap his arms around the television frame. I decided to use a few pieces of porch posts that I keep on hand in my stash for the branches that I had in mind. The branches are actually some that Deb found on a Polaris ride with one of the girls and baby, Jack… (our grandson.) They grabbed some dried milkweed and some other dried pods.
I just stuck them down inside of the hollow porch post. I wanted the branches to fill the entire area around the television. Of course, I had to add some candle sticks and candles.
It only made sense to add all of the black crows to the branches to make it even spookier. I added a few pumpkins to the mantel, also.
Here is my version of a spooky halloween mantel. You could totally recreate this with your own ghost and lots of different branches and dried weeds from your own yard. This was such a fun mantel for me to create. I hope that you got inspired by this look.
