I just had to say “stairway landing reveal” because it sounds official, like on Fixer Upper.
I’m so happy that this project is done and styled. It was a year in the making being the last “major” project to complete. Oh, but, there are many more projects we have in mind, because it never ends.
But, I just realized that I spent so much time this week showing BEFORE pictures of the stairway landing and explaining some of the problems we had, that I missed the Five on Friday series scheduled for today. But, don’t worry, I will be doing Five on Friday on Saturday! That sounds just about like us, huh? You won’t want to miss it either. I informed Deb that it was her turn to share five things about herself and believe it or not, she agreed. Yay!
I don’t like to poop up the “reveal day” posts with a case of the uglies, so if you missed the before pictures of this project, you must go back and review them. You will actually be able to feel the sad energy this house previously had and see what we started with.
I am now just going to be quiet and go picture happy!
I told you yesterday that a great friend gave us the perfect embellishments to finish off this project.
Aren’t those the coolest looking finials you’ve ever seen?
Believe it or not, we bought the porch railings from a Craigslist ad, we acquired the posts separately, and a great friend thought these finials would be the cat’s meow…. the cherry on top… the icing on the cake. (Mmmmmh, cake!)
We did nothing to the original patina to any of these pieces and they all match, therefore it was a match made in heaven.
I know I say this every single day, so you better just get used to it.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for stopping by. It means so much to me. Let me know what you think about this latest project by commenting on this post. Or, you can comment on Facebook and Instagram where I share a few extra pictures that aren’t yet posted. And, if you know anyone who would also love our adventures, let them know about us by sharing our page.
And, Buh Bye now, said in a really loud old lady’s voice, because how else could you say Buh Bye now.

Love the finials! The railing is beautiful!
Thanks, Barbie.
Love the entire thing.....like the position of the loveseat! You girls are so talented!!!
Thanks so much!
Did you use a foam underlay?
No...we did not.
Did you use full room lengths or staggered length boards? I have done staggered lengths and frankly would like a quicker way to go - it’s a manufactured home so extra time spent on cutting and staggering would not really raise the value of the house.
Initially we paid someone to install T& G pine in the living room and hall but I can’t afford that route for the other rooms. A friend and I did the T&G staggering lengths but I am leaning toward room length boards for reducing the labor. Also not T&G!!
